Product Review: Skin79 Super Beblesh Balm Triple Functions

IMG_5536

They say that skincare is useless if you don’t use SPF. Therefore, I always make sure that I have applied sun cream every time I go outside. Honestly, I was against the thought of applying anything on my face in the morning at first because I didn’t want my face to look too oily, or greasy, or powdery, or clowny whatsoever. But as time went by I realized that I can actually apply makeup and the greasy film of sunscreen can be toned down with the right powder.

IMG_5538

Using makeup such as BB creams to double as my SPF never really occurred to me because I honestly thought that they are not as effective as SPF products alone. However, my friend sent me this BB Cream from SKIN79 because she loves me, and I read that it is a highly upgraded sunscreen… I know it might just be for advertising when it’s obviouly more of a makeup than a skincare product. But who cares! this is SPF50, my usual SPF was only 30, thus this one might just give me more UV protection.

IMG_5542

The bottle says that SKIN79’s Super Plus Beblesh Balm Triple Functions is focused on Whitening/Anti-Wrinkle/ Ultraviolet rays protection SPF50+ PA+++. It is a highly upgraded sunscreen reduces skin discoloration and skin aging caused by UV A & B. (please ignore the grammar, I’m only copying what’s written on the bottle.)

Phytospingosine and Ceramide as similar ingredients to skin strengthen skin’s protective barrierand maintain skin balance. OSMOPUR-N and Vita-V Complex soothe and protect from skin damage caused by harmful environment to produce moistful and healthy-looking skin.

DIRECTIONS

Use proper amount on your face and spread it evenly.

IMG_5540

For my face I only need one pump to cover everything up. I simply blot the product around my face with a beauty blender until everything looks even.

IMG_5546

Here’s what my skin looks like without the BB cream.IMG_5548

And here it is with the BB cream.

Generally speaking, I like this product. I immediately fell in love with it the first time I tried it on and decided to use it as my daily BB cream–breaking my “makeup is different from skincare” rule and “no makeup just powder and concealer” rule. Simply because it makes my skin appear more even with or without concealer.

I also like its consistency, not too thick and not too watery. It’s just enough for me to be able to spread the product evenly without worrying that it might cake up. Oh, and that’s also one thing, this BB cream does not cake. However, this leaves a very dewy finish that makes me look not-so-pretty in photos unless if I use loose powder.

Also, I’m glad that my friend gave me the right shade because as you can see in the above photos, there were no much difference between my bare skin and the one with this BB cream except that it looks more even and the red patches and visible veins were gone. Although it highlighted the chicken skin a bit, I don’t think I have that problem on my face so I’m not really bothered by that. Overall, my skin looks younger with this BB cream.

My skin surprisingly had a good reaction to this product. Before, I would stay away from using makeup because I tend to get breakouts when using them. But with this one, I barely got any even though I used this every single day.

I think my only major concern with this is the packaging–it isn’t travel friendly and it looks like something that will be scattered all over your pouch if you don’t securely pack it. Which is why I put this inside its box and place it on a safe place in my luggage where it won’t be crushed by my other stuff–which is by the way, really difficult to do because I tend to pack more than what my bags can allow. I’m thinking of repackaging it to a smaller travel bottle to make it less of a hassle for me to bring it everywhere, But I’m afraid that the product might dry up inside the new container and waste a generous amount of it. So, I’m not sure if putting this in a travel bottle is still a good idea.

Anyway, that’s all I can say about this product. I totally recommend this to everyone and I’m pretty much sure I’m going to purchase this once I run out of it soon.

By the way, the friend that gave me this BB cream from SKIN79 also sells this, and a variety of other beauty products in her instagram page @nudieorganics. Check out her IG if you’re interested!

I hope you found this post helpful!

BLK cosmetics haul

Hello everyone! I’m back with another haul! A few weeks ago, my friend and I went to SM Makati for the sole purpose of buying makeup from BLK cosmetics.

If you don’t know what blkcosmetics is, it is a makeup line by Filipina-Australian actress Anne Curtis. She just recently launched it this year and is available in chosen Watsons and SM Beauty Stores in the Philippines.

Since I’m a big fan of Anne Curtis, and I’m slowly starting to delve into makeup, I cannot just say no to the chance of getting my hands on these beauties. When I realized that I had vacant time in Manila, I made sure that my friend and I would go somewhere that sells BLK cosmetics. Hence, SM Makati.

I first checked the prices in their official website, http://www.blkcosmetics.com.ph/ before deciding what to buy. I was planning on getting eye makeup because I just recently got my very first pair of glasses and I’m afraid that my eyes would look completely different with it. However, I have heard that the lip products are good too, so I decided that if I like something, I would get it. After all, I window-shopped in their website and put one of each product that they offer in the bag (just one shade each makeup) and it only reached around 2,500PHP. Not bad for a whole set of makeup.

IMG_5204 (1)

For the lipstick, I chose the Long-lasting Liquid Matte Lipstick in shade Sophisticated, because just like the name itself, it is simple yet it adds color to the lips, it’s not too tacky nor bland for a nude shade. It’s perfect for every day use.

I was actually thinking of buying lipstick from their other lines but then the testers look like they have melted off–I’m not sure if it is because a lot of people try it, or that’s how the product is, but it turned me off. Tip: make sure your testers are in good quality because the tester says a lot about the product.

But that didn’t completely turn me off. Actually, I’m not really sure which shade to buy too and I’m not really a lipstick person, so I decided to buy just one lip product as of the moment. I might come back soon, who knows?

Also, I love how this makeup line decided to produce a pen liquid liner. They’re so easy to use, just like the brand’s tagline–uncomplicated. And I can’t remember how much this Long Lasting Liquid Liner really costs (please check the website I gave earlier), but I think it’s less than 500PHP–cheaper compared to the other pen eyeliners I have encountered in my whole existence. Maybe I’m looking at the wrong places? I don’t know.

To be honest, I don’t know how to do my brows. But I still bought BLK cosmetics’ Brow Sculpting Pencil Duo in high hopes that I’ll learn how to do my brows with the aid of this product. You can see from the photo that it only costs 249PHP. It’s inexpensive, but it looks really classy and IG-friendly.

Last but not the least from my BLK cosmetics haul is this  Contour, Blush, & Highlight Palette in Flushed. I picked this one because I thought this will compliment my skin more compared to the Sun-Kissed variant. It’s so funny because when I was already willing to try this on, I realized that I DON’T OWN ANY MAKEUP BRUSH. Hahahahaha. Soooo, yeah. I will still have to look for makeup brushes before I can start using this. It should be included in my wishlist.

I decided not to buy a foundation yet because I didn’t feel like it–I think I’ll be putting too much makeup on my face if I use a foundation. Although, I do use a BB cream on a regular basis. If and when I decide that I need a foundation, BLK cosmetics will of course be in the line of brands I will consider. But as of the moment, I contented with my current makeup haul with BLK cosmetics and I hope I can come back to SM Makati or they’ll make it available here in Davao so I can buy more lipstick from them. Seriously, I am in LOOOOOOOOOVEEEEE with the packaging.

That’s all for now, and I hope you enjoyed reading this post!

Miniso Skincare and Beauty Haul

Hey guys! I just recently posted a review on Miniso’s Compressed sheet masks (read here), and even though that didn’t work out well for me, I couldn’t stop thinking about Miniso. The products there are just so cheap and very interesting, I cannot go to SM City Davao without going inside this shop.

And before anything else, no, this is not a sponsored post.

I’m not sure how often they add more stocks, but after a week or two, they added more skincare essentials in their items and, you guessed it, the inner fangirl in me went crazy. Since I gave myself a mental note to only do one Miniso shopping a month (I didn’t post the other one here because it wasn’t skincare related), I had to hold myself back for weeks before buying these items. Those weeks were really hard for me, if you guys knew. I would go to Miniso every chance I got just to get if my beloved items are still in stock and I daydream about the day that I finally get to bring them home at least five times a day–no kidding.

Anyway, when I finally allowed myself to buy these babies, I was over-the-top happy. I bought other items too, I just didn’t put them in this post because they were waaayyyy too domestic: suction baskets, hangers, etc.

So, without further ado, here are the items from my Miniso SKincare Haul:

IMG_5032

Miniso Deep Clean Ultrasonic Facial Cleansing Device – I have always wanted a cleansing brush, but I find them too expensive and I honestly didn’t put too much effort on finding cheaper ones–but they found me, in Miniso! This comes in other colors but of course I chose pink, because, duh, pink.

Miniso Mini Moisturizing Spray Facial Steamer – This product had my curiosity at peak because I wasn’t really sure if it’s similar to those steamers in facial spas, or if it’s just a fancy spray. However, I’m gonna find out about that soon!

Miniso Mini Y-type Platinum Massager – I have heard that massaging the face can help in circulating blood. Also, I have watched some beauty youtubers use a similar product when talking about their skincare routines. I, too, as a skincare enthusiast wants to know what all the hype is all about. And although this is a cheap knock-off of the original massager, I still think it’s worth a try.

Miniso Makeup Blender –  I just recently started using a BB cream so I thought it would be better if I use a makeup blender for it. Sucks that it’s not pink, though.

Miniso Beauty Towels – because I need more towels for my face.

Miniso Facial Brush – Although I bought the electric one, I also bought this one for my travels. Yknow, the other one is too bulky to carry everywhere. This one is small and it will not give me anxiety wondering if it’s still okay.

The battery-operated items didn’t come with free batteries so they had to be bought separately. I didn’t buy skincare products–like the facial washes, toner, emulsions, and stuff because I prefer products from well-known beauty and skincare stores (I honestly think that they put more effort into creating the perfect solution, because that’s their specialty, compared to stores where skincare is only just another line of products from them.)

So, yeah. I’m really excited to try these skincare toys and I hope Miniso won’t disappoint! I’m kinda afraid to use the brush on my face because it might cause breakage, but oh well, that’s part of the process.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this entry and I’ll talk to you guys soon!

May 2017 Althea Korea Haul (Also, where was I the past few days?)

Hello everyone! I am so so so sorry, I haven’t updated in a while. I know I promised in my last post that I’ll be posting reviews of the products in my Skincare routine–I’m not really sure if anyone actually looked forward to that; but if anyone has been waiting, I’m really sorry. I’ve been busy and I have been travelling in the last few weeks. Also, I’m trying to be a better gym-goer by going to the gym more often. Thus, I didn’t have enough time to write a blog post.

To be honest, I can’t really promise that I’ll go back to my usual blogging schedule (one ever other day, or thrice a week) because I have a fully loaded schedule ahead of me, and I don’t think I can sit down and write something for this blog until July.

But don’t worry, once I figure things out, I’ll come up with a blogging schedule and religiously stick to it. As of now, I’m still trying to adjust to things. Actually, I’m kinda sad because I have to adjust my gym schedule, my supposed boxing sessions, and my Chinese classes to cater my upcoming schedule. Anyway, I’m positive that I will still be able to do the things that I love despite the busy-ness, I just have to learn how to manage my time.

So, before I run out of time (I’m currently waiting for a phone call), here’s what’s inside my May 2017 Althea Box:

IMG_1172

  • Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop – I shouldn’t be buying this because I still have a vitamin C serum from innisfree. But this product is rarely available so I just took the chance and added it to my cart.
  • Nakeup Face Stress Zero Cleansing Stick – Since I’m living the live of a jet setter, I thought I should invest in a travel-friendly facial cleanser. I chose this because it’s 3-in-1 and it’s really easy to carry around and I don’t need to worry about spills.
  • Innisfree No Sebum Powder Cream – I was actually planning on minimizing my online shopping by only buying what I really need. This purchase happened because I ran out of my Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder and I intended to repurchase. However, I realized that the powder would be more suitable for oily skin, and since I have dry-sensitive-normal skin, I searched for a powder for suitable for my skin type and found this. This powder cream is a new product from Innisfree in Althea and I’m just thrilled to be one of the first few people to have it.
  • Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder – Although I already put the powder cream in my cart, I was thinking that I may not like it so I still added the mineral powder for backup.
  • Onsaemeein Perfect Moisture Cream – I actually had this cream a few months ago, it came with my Althea Anti-Pollution Box, and I absolutely loved it. Thus, I decided to repurchase.

IMG_1170

Last but not the least–this actually came as a surprise to me– Althea gave me a free CP-1 Ceramide Treatment Protein Repair System Premium Silk Ampoule. Thank you so much, Althea! I’m still looking for the best products for my hair and this one is a delightful addition to my experiment.

That’s all for my May 2017 haul. I ordered it late thus I received it late. Haha! Anyway, I’m starting to realize which products are best for me and which aren’t, thus I’m more careful with the products I buy. I’m just so happy that I’m almost done with my experimental phase with Korean Skincare (although finding the best products will always be an experiment, at least now I’ve narrowed down my options.) I’m not this lost girl who’s very much overwhelmed with the variety of options anymore, I’m now this girl who knows what I want and need. I came to realize that I don’t always need to have the newest, the latest, and the hottest products in store. What I need are the products good for my skin, and it might be something found in the less visited pages of Althea or somewhere else. I’m now more careful with what I buy, and I hope the same thing happens to everyone, especially those who are new to Korean Skincare. Experimenting can’t be avoided, but you have to know your skin first before slathering products on it, or worst things might happen.

See you in a few weeks,

Meesh ❤

Etude House Berry Delicious Cream Blusher Review

IMG_9426

And it’s makeup time! As you guys know, this blog is mainly dedicated to skincare but that does not definitely mean that everything here will be about skincare, skincare, and skincare. I will be talking about other stuff from time to time. After all, this blog is supposedly a personal blog–it’s just that I’m currently obsessed with skincare hence the plethora of skincare reviews and hauls.

(RELATED: Other Stories: My March 2017 Book Haul)

(RELATED: UNBOXING: Colourpop box)

IMG_9518

In this post I will be talking about my current favorite blusher, which is the Etude House Berry Delicious Cream Blusher in the shade Grapefruit Strawberry. It got this at a nearby Etude House store because I needed to put some makeup on for an event and I wanted a soft peachy shade of blush on my cheeks.IMG_9440

Here’s a photo of my bare hand for comparison. The blusher is really light thus I need to show you guys how it looks like without makeup.

IMG_9442

And this is my hand with the blusher applied. As I have said, it’s very light and it’s very unnoticeable. If you’re going for a dramatic heavy look, this blusher is not for you.

Koreans are well known for their very minimalist approach to cosmetics, they even coined the “no makeup makeup look” in which they use makeup to conceal impurities and enhance features of the face, but it’s so light that no one will notice that it’s makeup. It looks very natural and it will of course leave those who are not aware of this trend in awe because of the perfect skin complexion that seems to be inborn, but was in fact enhanced with makeup.

I myself isn’t a big fan of makeup, and I just barely started using lose powder on a daily basis. And nowadays I’ve been adding this blusher to my routine from time to time–just to give my boring face some color and life. What I like about using this is that it makes me look like I have a natural blush—that’s I’m just blooming, that’s all. I honestly thought that people in my office noticed that I put on some blush the day I started using this and they just didn’t comment about it. But after two weeks of wearing this blusher on a daily basis, one of my officemates remarked, “Wow, you’re wearing blush on today.” and I was completely blown away. I became a little worried because I might have applied too much blush for her to notice it, but she said that it looked nice so I just let it be.

After that, there would be a pattern—there were days when they notice that I have used a blusher and there were days when they don’t. I guess it really depends on how much makeup I put on my face. I would prefer them not noticing the extra color on my cheeks, but I guess it can’t be helped. And, after all, I get compliments instead of judgement whenever I put more than needed. It’s a win-win situation.

That’s all for now!

XOXO

What’s In My Bag: My Go-To Beauty Essentials

IMG_8791

Hello everyone! I feel like it’s been a while since my last post. I usually update 2-3 times a week, but I wasn’t able to schedule new posts recently because I just spent a few days in Palawan last week without a laptop with me, thus I wasn’t able to write new content. Also, I’m trying to get my life back together by going to the gym more often (I only go once to twice a month before! Lol) and by enrolling in a foreign language class. All of these made me quite busy. But don’t you guys worry! I won’t give up on this blog just like how I gave up on the million other blogs that I had before this. I have a list of content that I’m planning to write during my free time. And I do have a lot of things to say and share in this blog. Stay tuned for that!

Anyway, let’s talk about my go-to beauty essentials. These are products which can be found in different pockets of my bag. I do have a specific pouch dedicated to my beauty essentials that I bring with me all the time, but there are just some items that I use more often thus I place them in pockets that are much more easier to access. The products in this post are all the beauty items that you can find in the bag that I carry every day.

Maybelline White SuperFresh Powder Foundation – To be honest, I only carry this around for the mirror. I used to apply this on my face on a daily basis, but I noticed that it gets cakey over time, especially on the area where the rim of my sun glasses sit, so I stopped using this daily. I still reserve this product for days when I need full makeup.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Protect Lotion (see full review here) – I find this product very useful especially on days when I do not have enough time to do a full morning skincare routine. I just massage this lotion on my face after washing and apply powder and I’m done! I do notice that even though I wasn’t able to follow both my morning and evening routines, as long as I use this sun lotion, my face looks brighter and clearer. Since using this on top of other skincare products makes my face tacky, I utilize the wonders of this cream by using it whenever I’m at home–or as I have said, whenever I don’t have enough time to do a full routine.

Lizard Lips Lip Balm – This lipbalm is actually something that I have in my bag all the time, but I only remember that it exists when I see it. This isn’t my main lip balm, but I do use it whenever I need a quick fix.

Etude House Big Cover Concealer Stick – This product is very effective in hiding unwanted spots on the face. Although I cannot say that it fully hides everything, it reduces the appearance of the spots until it’s unnoticeable. Also, this concealer is very easy to apply because of the stick form. It isn’t messy and it easily blends on the skin.

Celeteque Acne Solutions Acne-Clearing Concealer – I apply this on areas with acne before I put the Etude House Big Cover Concealer Stick. Because although I’m confident with this concealer’s healing properties, it does not give much coverage.

Celeteque Acne Solutions Acne Spot Corrector Gel – I actually started incorporating this gel in my daily routine, before I put on my cream. I simply apply this product on my acne and massage it through until it’s fully absorbed. This gel is great for acne emergencies because it can be brought everywhere without worrying that it might spill all over my bag, and it easily absorbs without leaving a shiny cast.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer – I don’t use this as much as I use the Etude House Big Cover Concealer Stick, but this product comes very handy whenever I need full face coverage–usually when I feel haggard and tired and my face looks dull. This somehow covers that dullness and the bags under my eyes efficiently.

Nivea Raspberry Rose Lip Butter (see full review here) – This is my go-to lip product! I apply this as often as whenever my lips feel dry. I simply cannot leave the apartment without this.

Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder – I just recently got this from my latest Althea Haul. I’m not really a fan of powder, I went through puberty without it. But this product somehow changed my view on powders! I apply this after I put my sunscreen in the morning and my face actually looks brighter and feels smoother after. I don’t really reapply this because there’s no need to, it lasts the whole day. But I just bring it with me in case some emergency happens.

If you guys can notice, the products that I bring with me every day are just concealers and other items geared towards protecting the skin and hiding imperfections. I’m not really a fan of doing everyday makeup, although I’m starting to put a small amount of blush on my cheeks every now and then just to add a bit of color. Also, I use some lip color from time to time especially when I feel like I look dead. But that’s just about it. I like to keep my face bare but flawless (which is quite impossible) thus the number of concealers and powders that I have with me. However, I’m starting to experiment with the makeup that I have hidden in my room so there’s a huge possibility that more cosmetics might be added to my daily makeup essentials. But as of the moment, I’m satisfied with the few products that I have in my bag.

What are your daily beauty essentials? Let me know!

XOXO,

Meesh ❤

UNBOXING: Colourpop box

img_4563

I told you, this blog isn’t just going to be all about Skin Care! I’ll post about makeup from time to time. (Forgive me for the photo quality, I posted these on my Instagram story and just saved them so they aren’t really in their best quality.)

Anyway, my cousin and I just recently purchased two lip bundles from Colourpop: Out and About and Can You Knot. We purchased two of the same bundle so that we’d have one each. Sadly, we can’t really share (although I do borrow her lip stains whenever we’re together) because we live miles apart. We both loved the bundles that we chose although we were both free to choose a different item, I guess we just had the same taste.

img_4556

I can say that the box was neatly arranged. It was covered with this sheet of foam and when you take off the sheet on top, this is the first thing that welcomes you. When you turn it over, it has a small message for you:

img_4557

I’ve seen different Colourpop unboxing posts, and the message in each box is different.

img_4558

It also comes with this small magazine thingy that promotes other Colourpop items.

img_4559

After the magazine thingy were finally the products itself! I was literally jumping in joy when I was finally able to get my hands on these lipstick bundles. They weren’t covered in bubble wrap or anything which is okay because the whole thing was already covered in foam sheet and the items that we purchased were not likely to spill because they were small.

img_4563img_4560img_4561

img_4564

These are the shades from the two bundles. We decided to purchase one with lighter colors, which is the Out and About bundle, and a bundle with darker tones which is the Can You Knot bundle. These are the lip shades in the photo above from Top to Bottom:

Can You Knot Bundle: Ultra Satin Lip: Hutch

Out and About: Ultra Satin Lip: Barracuda (A personal fave of mine)

Out and About: Ultra Matte Lip: Viper

Out and About: Ultra Matte Lip: Times Square (This is the main reason why we actually went and purchased lippies from Colourpop. This pink-beige color is prefect for a nude look!)

Can You Knot: Ultra Matte Lip: Notion

Can You Knot: Ultra Glossy Lip: Sookie

I haven’t tried all of these products yet, I’m still waiting for the perfect occasion to use each and every one of them, especially the darker tones. But I’ve been using Barracuda and Times Square to work from time to time.

Using the darker tones won’t really be a problem for me because I have a fair complexion but I’m not really used to wearing makeup, I just use colorless lipbalm most of the time. But I do hope that having these products in my collection will inspire me to wear makeup more often.

You’ll find out once I get addicted to makeup, because posts like this will appear more often in this blog. But as of the moment, I’m just obsessed with skincare.

XOXO,

Meesh
