Updated AM/PM Skincare Routine for 2018 (A.K.A. first phase of my 2018 skincare goals)

Hey guys!

New Year, new skincare routines! Yay!

I’m now done with my Christmas/new year skincare shopping, and I have already posted my hauls in this site (check them out here, and here.) It is now time for me to reveal my latest morning and evening skincare routines with the products I just purchased.

If you want to know to know my 2018 Skincare Goals, I wrote about it here.

It has been a long time since I posted an updated skincare routine here, and that’s primarily because for the past few months, there was not much of a change in my skincare routine (in fact, some of the items from my last skincare routine can still be found in these new routines!) and I’m afraid that if I post them after just a few product changes, it will be boring and it will look like I just posted the same routine–some products just take forever to empty up!!! However, I will write down some of the other products that I have used prior to this routine and after the last skincare routine that I have uploaded, just to keep things in order.

MORNING ROUTINE

IMG_6637

  1. Oil CleanserBanila Co. Super Size Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm. This is actually a repurchase because I used the same oil cleanser before I started using the Jamong Cleansing Balm and the Etude House One Shot Sherbet Cleanser. I actually liked this balm better than the two other balms I have used, thus I decided to go back to this.
  2. Foam CleanseriSkin New York Deep Cleanser. After using the Cosrx Good Morning Low PH cleanser, I used the Banila Co. Clean It Zero Foam Cleanser for about a month before I started using this. There wasn’t anything wrong with the Banila Co. cleanser, it’s just that I had my face cauterized and my skincare clinic suggested that I use this cleanser for maintenance. I didn’t want to risk it thus I decided to buy this cleanser.
  3. TonerBenton Snail Bee High Content Skin. Yes. I still have this product with me. No complaints! Even though I’m not really sure what it does to my skin…
  4. EssenceCosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence. Prior to this I had Nature Republic’s Honey Real Nature Essence, Etude House’s Honey Cera Essence, and as well as their Wonder Pore Tightening Essence. I’m not yet done with these essences from Etude House, but I decided to have a break from the both of them and use this Snail essence from Cosrx twice daily because it has been so wonderful to my skin and I feel like it will be more effective if I apply it daily. However, I’m still planning on using the essences from Etude House soon. Actually, I only use the pore tightening essence on the nose area which is why these two always come together. I might use both of them in the morning and then this essence from Cosrx in the evening after a few weeks.
  5. SerumIt’s Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector. I only had Dear Klairs’ Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop between this and the serum that I had in the last skincare routine that I posted.
  6. Eye CreamInnisfree Orchid Eye Cream. I was supposed to use this for the evening to replace my Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream, but when I did, I noticed that my eyes weren’t getting any brighter. So I continued using my Skinfood eye cream in the evening and started using this orchid eye cream in the morning. Also, let me just say that this is totally perfect for morning use because it’s so easy to apply and it blends well with makeup.
  7. Oil – Organic Alley Rosehip Oil. Ooooooh! This is a new section. I am now introducing beauty oils to my skincare routine–as part of my skincare goals. So far, so good.
  8. Moisturizer – The Face Shop 99% Aloe Vera Gel. Before this, I was using the Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Gel but I ran out of it and I wasn’t able to order it online. This was the closest dupe that was locally available so I bought this instead. Needless to say, I still prefer the one from Nature Republic.
  9. Sun cream – Biore UV Perfect Face Milk SPF 50+ PA++++. I use a lot of sun creams. My choice depends on the event or the situation of the day. Whenever I’m at home, I usually just use the Belo SunExpert Face Cover SPF40 PA+++. But whenever I go out, I use this one from Biore.

This is not yet the perfect morning skincare routine for me. I have a love-hate relationship with the Organic Alley Rosehip Oil because it makes my face look really oily and it seems like it never absorbs into the skin, it just sits there the whole day. But ever since I added this oil in my routine, my skin has become more soft and flawless than ever!!!!!!! And I can really feel it after I wash my face and I haven’t applied anything to it yet, it feels great and it looks great and I’m totally in love with it (which makes me not want to do my skincare routine anymore because it’s freaking flawless!!! But I can’t not do my routine, of course. It’s the reason why it’s THAT flawless.)

I first applied it after my Aloe Vera Gel because I feel like it’s heavier than the gel, but then it started pilling. However, it does not leave an oily residue on my face. And then I tried applying it before the gel, and it feels like there’s no point of applying the gel anymore because the oil is too heavy, it seemed like I’m layering too much. But this time, there’s no pilling.

I’m not sure if it is my skin, or if it is my skincare line-up, or if it is the way I applied the rosehip oil and the aloe vera gel, but I really want to have rosehip oil in my routine. I had no problem with any oily residue or product pilling before I added the rosehip oil, so the center of this issue is my oil and how do I correctly apply it? There are a lot of other people out there who uses rosehip oil on their face on a daily basis that didn’t have any problem with it… but here I am. I’m thinking that it might be because the rosehip oil that I’m currently using isn’t cold pressed. But whatever the problem may be, I will find a way to solve it and I will have rosehip oil on my face. I will get both things I want. Lol.

EVENING ROUTINE

IMG_6647

  1. Oil Cleanser – Banila Co.’s Clean It Zero
  2. Foam Cleanser – iSkin New York Deep Cleanser
  3. Toner – Etude House Berry AHA! Bright Peel Boosting Serum. I know that the label says serum, but the product instructions say that I should use it like a toner, and so I did. (see full review here)
  4. Essence – Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
  5. Serum – It’s Skin Power 10 Formula VE Effector. I really didn’t have a serum on my night routine because I already had the Boosting Serum from Etude House. But when I bought this, I realized that Vitamin E is very much safe to use with AHA. Since then, I reintroduced serums in my night routine. (I’m already thinking of the next serum to buy as I type.)
  6. Eye Cream – Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream. I’ve had this one since forever, and I don’t think I need another Eye Cream in the next few months. However, if you guys have suggestions, feel free to comment below. I honestly don’t know how to pick an eye cream.
  7. Emulsion – Nature Republic Argan 20 Steam Emulsion. This is my second emulsion, ever. The Etude House Moistfull Collagen Emulsion lasted me one complete year, and I am hoping that this will also last a year, if not longer.
  8. Night Cream – Nella Honey 1 Snail Ultra Moisture Cream Premium. I also used my Nature Republic Aloe Vera gel in the evening, and when I ran out of it, I started using The Face SHop 99% Aloe Vera Gel. However, I wanted to change my night cream so I briefly went back to my very first sleeping mask, which is the Etude House Play Therapy Sleeping Mask. (see routine here) That mask had been with me since forever, and I thought that I don’t really need a firming mask that much, so I went and bought this cream from Althea. (see haul here)
  9. Lip Mask – Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. This lip mask has been with me since forever, and it smells so good, I am in love with it. I think I started using this around April last year, and I’m still barely halfway through the whole bottle. Totally worth the price, if you ask me.

This first phase of fulfilling my Skincare Goals for 2018 is more focused on adding Snail products in my routine, hence the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence and the Nella Honey 1 Snail Ultra Moisture Cream Premium. I never really had the chance to incorporate Snail Mucin in my 2017 Skincare Routines except for the Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin and the occasional Snail sheet mask because all of the snail products that I wanted to have were always out of stock in Althea and BeautyMNL. Back then, having snail mucin in my routine was not really much of a goal, it’s more like something that I was willing to try (but I never got the chance lol). This year, since the occasional Snail sheet mask from Etude House has proven that Snail does indeed do wonders on my skin, I have decided that it should have more participation in my skincare routine. I actually feel like I have been missing a huge part of my Korean beauty obsession because I don’t have any snail mucin product.

Also, I currently have two It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Effectors in my skincare routines. I wanted to try the whole line on my skin because it looks so fun and colorful. However, trying the whole line isn’t really high on my priority list right now because I have an ideal skincare routine in my mind which involves more Cosrx, Klairs, and The Ordinary products. But if ever I need a certain serum and my first choice of serum is not in stock, I might go for another It’s Skin Power 10 Formula Effector instead.

For the second phase, I want to add more actives in my skincare routine. But I have to do it really slowly because I don’t want to traumatize my skin by having too many active products. I might start with what I’m familiar with first, which is a stronger Vitamin C serum, AHAs and BHAs. But to be honest, the second phase depends on what items are available in the market. Because I’m also looking at beauty oils, but I need to do more research about it seeing that my current rosehip oil is not that much of a delight to use (maybe it’s because of the products I used during the routine, because it absorbs perfectly when I massage it on my arm), but I have noticed some positive changes that can be attributed to that beauty oil.

And honestly, this AM/PM skincare routine isn’t the perfect skincare routine for me. But I really like what it’s doing to my skin.

Before I end this post, I would just like to remind everyone that I have a normal-dry skin type. My nose area is acne prone.

If any of you guys use beauty oils, please tell me how you incorporate it in your routines. Also, does it make your face look really shiny? Or does it absorb well? Comment down below!

2018 Skincare Goals (also, BEFORE and AFTER skincare photos of me!)

Hey guys! I’m here to share my 2018 goals for my beloved skin. Over the Christmas break and the whole month of January, I had ample time to reflect and evaluate myself and my skincare routine. I have been watching videos in Youtube about some people trying out the 10-step Korean Skincare routine for a week or two, and some of them noticed visible changes immediately. Since I have been religiously doing my skincare routine for a year now, just like these Youtube bloggers, I have noticed the changes in my skin too—but that does not mean that I don’t have skin issues any more. I still have a few problems to deal with, and watching those videos has inspired me to go on with my skincare routine this year and to become more attentive when it comes to choosing the products that I use so that they can effectively help me in eliminating or lessening my skin concerns.

During the first few months when I started strengthening my focus on skincare, I have noticed a dramatic change in my skin. However, as months passed by, I just started getting used to my new skin that I don’t even notice the changes that much, which sometimes made me think that my skincare isn’t helping me that much. You know that feeling when you tend to forget what you have because you’re so used to having it already? That’s somehow what I felt especially when I still see my skin troubles seemingly obvious on my face. However, the constant unsolicited compliments from family and friends saying that my skin looked so much better gave the constant validation that I needed. Also, I have become this person that people go to when they have skincare questions or such which made me have this confidence with what I’m doing. These people believed in me, thus, I shall also believe in myself.

But that confidence and belief is not fooling me. I still have skincare concerns that I would like to address. Last year may have eliminated more than half of my problems, thus, this year, I will try to get rid of my remaining skin concerns and try out other skincare practices that I haven’t tried this year yet.

Here’s a photo of me before trying out Korean Skincare:

This photo was taken October 2016. I just had my hair rebonded (hence the “dooooonneee” caption)

Here’s a photo of me 11 months into Korean Skincare:

IMG_4157

I was inside a fitting room, and honestly, the lighting was good.

Have you noticed the difference between the two?

Looking at my October 2016 selfie, I honestly thought I looked good in that photo when I posted it a year ago. But right now, even before I saw my current photos, I just cringe at the confidence I had when I posted it.

Now, I’m pretty much aware that both photos were taken in different lighting and different situations. but I doubt that my skin would ever look that dull and lifeless if I took a selfie right now.

(see also: A compilation of my Skincare Routines posted in this blog)

(disclaimer: I did not undergo a nose lift. I purposely angled my face like that so my nose would look better.)

Seeing these before and after photos of my face and based on my own observations. My year of skincare has done the following to me:

  • It brightened up my skin. It looks more alive and healthy. Before, I would always feel like my face is dull and I look dead, but now, even on my most tiring days, I feel like I still look fresh and alive whenever I look at the mirror.
  • My acne scars has disappeared. I really didn’t care much about my acne scars, to be honest I didn’t really notice them before. But looking at my old photos made me realize their existence in my life… and I am more than thankful that they are gone now.
  • I don’t get as much acne as I used to. And when I do, they don’t stay for much long. Before, getting rid of an acne is really a problem for me. During my first few months into skincare, my acne problem was really something I had a huge focus on. Well, to be honest, I don’t really get a lot of acne, but yknow, if you’re trying to make your face flawless, a little pimple can be a huge bummer. I was able to finish three bottles of The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil (see review here) in the first few months of 2017 became pimples just keep on appearing on my face. But later on, they slowed down and they don’t really stay for much long. I actually bought a fourth bottle of Tea Tree Oil from The Body Shop around May last year, and I never really got to use it that much so it ended up with my sister. I think my regular chemical exfoliation, and trips to the facial spa has a huge participation in keeping my acne at bay.
  • My skin became more softer. It wasn’t generally rough before. But I noticed that it became more supple and it felt more gentle.
  • I don’t flake that much anymore. I have combination dry skin, which means my T-zone area can sometimes become really dry when it’s cold. And when that happens, my nose area would flake. In the last six months, I didn’t experience any flaking at all even though the temperature is really cold.
  • Less redness. If there was girl human version of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, that would be me. I don’t actually remember a time when my nose area wasn’t red before I invested into skincare. Now, redness isn’t an issue at all!
  • Eyebags became less prominent. They’re still there, and they still get dark at times. But they’re not as horrifying as they were before. I don’t recall anyone telling me that I looked tired or I looked like I lacked sleep in the past few months.
  • Fine lines were reduced. Or their appearance gradually slowed down. I don’t know. But given all the stress that the past year have given me, it is a miracle that I still look my age. I’m only in my early 20s so fine lines and wrinkles are not really an issue for me, but I still want to mention the fact that my skin just felt really great and young and there wasn’t a day when I worried about my wrinkles whenever I was doing my skincare routine–I just realized that there was a point in my life when I was freaked out about the lines forming in my forehead, but now? They’re not so freaky anymore.

(read:Best of My 2017 Skincare (Blogversary Post!))

So, those are the main things that I have noticed in my skin for the past year. I am really grateful that I became more conscious about my face and I have discovered the 10-step Korean Skincare Routine, because if it wasn’t for skincare, then my life would probably be dull and honestly, I wouldn’t be very happy about my existence.

I’m very satisfied with what my 2017 skincare adventure has done to my skin, however, there are still areas that needs a little more love. If you would look closely at my September 2017 photo, you would notice that it isn’t really that flawless–there are some bumps and dark spots that needs to be taken care of. And this year, I will make sure of that.

Here are my 2018 skincare goals:

  • Focus on taking good care of my nose area. My nose is my most hated part of my face. It is one of the main reasons why I started investing in Korean Skincare and it is still the reason why I am not that confident in taking selfies. I have been to several skincare clinics for facials, and they would always say something about my nose. However, they’d say that it isn’t really obvious or visible so I shouldn’t be really bothered, but I am bothered. I went to a Belo clinic for a facial once and the girl who did my facial discouraged me from having anything done. However, my latest facial at SM MOA Flawless had me thinking. The girl kept on telling me things about the pores on my nose and such that it stuck on my head. So now, all I want to do is to focus on making it look better. I really didn’t invest on blackhead/whitehead removal that much last year save for the occasional facial and daily AHA. But this year, I will try to be more religious with using nose strips and nose masks.
  • Get rid of the bumps, redness, and sunspots on my face. they’re not as prominent as before, but they’re still there. And if there’s a way where I can make my skin better, I will try.
  • Try more local products. They’re generally cheaper than most skincare products, and  lot of them are organic. I trust that Filipino brands are good too, they’re just not as recognized as other skincare brands because it isn’t really something that the Philippines is known for.
  • Invest in beauty oils. One of the things that I wish I should have been last 2017 was to be more aware of beauty oils and other skincare ingredients. So, this year I will try to do my best to be more familiar with beauty oils and to start investing on them. I currently have Tea Tree Oil, Argan Oil, and Castor Oil in my stash and they have been wonderful to me, so I’m thinking of expanding my collection this year.
  • Take more care of my lip balm-dependent lips. I cannot live a day without lip balm because my lips always feel dry, or sometimes they have this weird texture that I really can’t explain but only lip scrubs can successfully get rid of. This year, I really want my lips to feel normal–something that wouldn’t make me want to run to the drugstore and buy a lip balm just because I didn’t bring any and my lips were starting to feel weird (this happened, srsly.) Anyway, I’ve been trying this lip care routine for some time now, it’s something that I do when I’m doing my skincare as well and I’m posting about it soon so I hope you guys can read it!

This is a really lengthy post and I honestly don’t know if anyone will be patient enough to read everything from top to bottom. But I really had a good time writing this because this whole post is basically my skincare past, present, and future. I just hope that my future will be bright, supple, and flawless. Wish me luck!

Skincare Presents that I got for Christmas

IMG_6471

SUPER BELATED MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!! I know you’re probably wondering right now as to why I posted a Christmas-related blog four weeks after Christmas and right after I posted a new year themed post (kinda) (check it out here). Well, I have been out of town ever since Christmas break and I only came back last week. The past three weeks has been filled with a lot of fun and relaxing activities that I never got the chance to open my laptop–not even once. Thus, I decided to start writing my blog posts when I go back home to Davao after I’m done with my three-week Christmas vacation.

Before I left for Dumaguete for Christmas, I posted my wishlist and skincare wishlist on this blog. If you have read those already, then you guys already know what I wanted for Christmas. If you haven’t, it isn’t too late to check them out yet. Hahaha!

Anyway, I actually got the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream weeks before Christmas because my cousins went to Korea for the sembreak and I specifically asked them to buy me that eye cream, so they did! Thus, I didn’t include it on this list–even though it’s the only item that I wanted for Christmas that I actually got. (Sad, but, I’m happy with what they gave me.)

So, my family has been awfully aware that I have this obsession with Korean Skincare, and I’m actually really touched that they took note of that when buying me Christmas presents. I did not ask for these things, nor I am aware of these brands… but I am very much excited to try all of them.

Here’s a list of everything Skincare that I got for Christmas, as shown in the photo above:

Crielf Cream Blender Black Truffle Brightening Mask

Echopop Lip Balm Vanilla Banana

Echopop Lip Balm Watermelon

Purederm Snail Cell Illuminating Multi-step Treatment

Dongwha Red Ginseng Soap

Lululun Face Mask in Pink

Jeju Farm Aloe Face Mask

Pure Smile Juicy Strawberry Point Pads

The Odbo Sunblock Pact

I didn’t try any of the sheet masks yet because I wanted to do a bit of research before trying. Because the last time I used an unfamiliar sheet mask that someone gave me, I had a huge breakout that took weeks to get rid of. The only thing that I have tried from the list is the Odbo Sunblock Pact, and even though it’s an unfamiliar brand for me, I know for a fact that it is from Korea hence I feel safe in using it.

Also, I’ve been trying to find information about the Crielf masks because when I google about it, the brand appears but it doesn’t show much information about the mask. It’s mostly all about the Essence from the same brand. Though I’m quite confident that this mask is good, and it is authentic from Korea. I just want reassurance about what this product can do. So guys, if you have heard about it… or about any of the products listed above, comment down below and tell me about it. I’d love to learn more about these gifts.

Sooo… that’s all for today. I hope you enjoyed this post!

My Skincare Wishlist 2017

Hey guys! So a few weeks ago I posted about my My Christmas Wishlist 2017, which is mainly about everything that I wanted for this Christmas. The list only included two skincare items which are the Tony Moly Ferment Snail Skincare Set and the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream. Of course, even though I’m all about skincare, a girl has other needs too.

However, that does not mean that they’re the only two products on my skincare wishlist–I’m obsessed with skincare, of course there’ll be more than two items in the list. I only put the two main items in my skincare wishlist because I’m afraid that if I put everything that I want, I won’t be able to get anything except skincare. (yes, I do have a life outside skincare) sooo… uhm, yeah. Here’s the list of Skincare items that I would love to have soon. I might purchase them, or bribe someone to give them to me as a gift–or just like any other millennial, ask(beg) my parents to buy them for me.

  1. Neogen Real Fresh Cleansing Stick (Green Tea)

51ZSQv4IibL._SL1001_

I have seen this cleansing stick a number of times around different skincare articles and videos, and I really need a good cleansing stick since I already ran out of my previous one. This one seems to be a good product so I thought I’d give it a try. If this was easy to find in the Philippines, I would have bought it a long time ago already. But it’s not in my trusted websites and I’m not sure where else to go to soo… I’ll just have this in my wihslist in case someone I know goes out of the country and finds this (but if you guys know a good website, please let me know.)

2. Etude House Honey Cera Emulsion

Etude-House-Honey-Cera-Emulsion-510x550

Have I mentioned how in love I am with this certain line from Etude House? Nope? Please remind me to blog about it. Lol. Anyway, I have tried the toner, lip balm, and eye cream from the Etude House Honey Cera Skincare lineup and I am totally loving every single one of it. Sadly, I don’t know if Etude House has faced out the Honey Cera line or the local flagship stores just don’t want to sell them or whatsoever, but they have been off the shelves for months. However, they’re still available in the Etude House Global website, thus there might still be a hope for me to get my hands on the other Honey Cera products. If you’re asking why I chose the emulsion among all others, it’s because I really don’t know any other emulsion and knowing that the Honey Cera line is good for me, I think I will love this product.

But guys, if you can recommend a good emulsion, please comment down below. It would be a great help, thanks!

3. Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Toner

klairs_supple_preperation_facial_toner_thumbnail_02

I have read that this toner is great on hydration and my skin is always in dire need of good hydration. Also, I have already tried and tested the Dear Klairs brand and it has done wonders to my skin.

(related: PRODUCT EXPERIENCE: Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop)

4. Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Snail Mucin Essence

ELLE yeah Winter Skin Saviours Skincare Review Dry Sensitive Dehydrated K-Beauty Korean Essence COSRX Snail Mucin Power Essence

The only snail anything that I have in my Skincare routine is the Benton Snail Bee Skin and the occasional snail mask from Etude House. Knowing that Snail Mucin does wonders to my skin, I’d like to incorporate more of it in my routine. Since the Essence is the heart of Korean Skincare, I think having a snail essence will give me positive results. Yknow, I’m really picky when it comes to my serum and essence because I think these two products has the most effect on the skin, and I’m really specific with the ingredients of them… which is why I am extra meticulous when it comes to finding the next essence or serum I’ll be using.

5. Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum

61mhgX-ktmL._SY450_

Just like most of the products in this wishlist, I have watched reviews about this product and from what I have gathered, this is the perfect Vitamin C serum not only because the product is holy grail itself, but the packaging is totally perfect for Vitamin C. I honestly think that getting my hands on this product is literally grace from the heavens because it’s quite expensive–I don’t know if anyone is willing to spend all that money in one product when you can get like, at least 5 products with the money. Also, I don’t know where to get this product locally. But I am hoping that someday, I’ll be able to use this product and experience its wonders first hand.

There you go! I’m cutting this list to five, because if I put everything that I want in this list, this blog post will never see its end.

Honestly, I don’t know how this post can help anyone whatsoever, but I still want to put this here for the sake of sharing. I do hope you find this post entertaining. And if you have a skincare wishlist, please comment down below or send me a link if you blogged about it.

Until then,

What’s in my Skincare Travel Bag? Also, Travelling Skincare Routine!!

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted anything in this blog. As I have mentioned on my latest post, the month of June had been a very busy month for me. I was out travelling on official business for two weeks. Although my schedule has strained me from blogging, it gave me another topic to talk about, which is my travelling skincare routine.

If you guys have been following me, you’ll know that I travel a lot. And being a skincare enthusiast, bringing my whole skincare routine everywhere with me is quite a struggle. Yknow, all the space that the bottles consume, the possible leakages and breakages, not being able to do a full 10-step routine, and the possibility of forgetting a bottle or two anywhere.

It took my quite some time to finally come up with a travelling skincare routine that isn’t that inconvenient but at the same time, feels enough for my skincare needs.

IMG_1536

Introducing, my travelling skincare bag!! I got this toiletry bag from Beauty Bar SM MOA. I can’t remember the exact price, but I’m pretty much sure it’s less than 500PHP. Aside from my skincare, I also put my other hygiene products in it (that I removed for this photo except for my deodorant, which is neatly tucked on one of the corners of the bag… you can see its cover in the photo.)

IMG_1528

The usual skincare routine has 10 steps, this one, on the other hand, only has 8 steps (excluding the sheet masks, of course), but I personally think that this is sufficient enough to provide my skin its needs.

  1. Oil cleanser/ foam cleanser

NAKEUP FACE STRESS ZERO CLEANSING STICK – This 3-in-1 cleansing stick is one of the best skincare products I have because it’s very handy and convenient for travelling. It’s small and light, and since it’s in stick form, I don’t have to worry about spilling it all over my bag. Also, it serves as a makeup remover, oil cleanser, and foam cleanser. So, imagine all the storage space that I was able to save because of this product. Plus, this cleansing stick smells so relaxing, it reminds me of the spa.

2. Toner

BENTON SNAIL BEE HIGH CONTENT SKIN – This product is larger than 100mL thus I wouldn’t recommend putting this on your carry-on baggage if you don’t want it to be confiscated by airport security. I sometimes put this in a smaller plastic bottle to save space, since I don’t really need a lot when I’m out travelling. I actually want to use a spray toner for travelling, and I actually own one, but I think this works better for my skin so I bring this one instead of the other spray toner I have.

3. Essence

ETUDE HOUSE MOISTFULL COLLAGEN ESSENCE – I have dry/combination skin, thus it is important to keep my skin moisturized especially during travels. This is also my daily essence and I bring this with me during travels because it’s small and portable, also, it’s in a plastic container so I don’t have to worry breaking it.

4. Eye Cream

ELIZAVECCA GOLD-CF NEST WHITE BOMB EYE CREAM – This is my daily morning eye cream, but I use this both in the morning and at night during travels because between my two eye creams, this one is much easier to bring around and easier to apply because of the tube container. I prefer to bring this alone for my eye cream instead of bringing two different products because my nightly eye cream is much heavier than this one, thus it’s not something that I can use in the morning without allotting a lot of my time in waiting for my skin to absorb the product. Unlike my day eye cream, it can work for both mornings and evenings.

5. Emulsion

MOISTFULL COLLAGEN EMULSION – I actually have this in full size, it just so happened that I also have a small sample bottle that I got months ago. I simply refill my sample bottle with the same product, and bring it everywhere I go, hassle-free.

6. Moisturizer

ONSAEMEEIN PERFECT MOISTURE CREAM – I don’t really recommend bringing this product around unless you have a proper container for it because it has a glass container, and it might break it crushed inside your luggage. However, I brought this moisturizer with me because my usual moisturizer is BIG AF (Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Cream), and this is the only light moisturizer that I currently have in my stash that works for me both in the night and day. I also add two drops of Dear Klairs’ Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop with this cream before applying it to give my face that extra nourishment that it needs.

7. Lip Cream

LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK – I only use this lip cream for my evening routine because I would much prefer use a lighter lip balm during the day. I don’t really bring this product whenever I travel, except when I’ll be away for more than five days. After all, this lip mask is meant to be travel friendly. Also, this is can be very useful when traveling via plane because that long ride can really dry your lips and nothing else can save those lips except for this heaven-sent lip mask.

Aside from the products stated above, I also bring with me a sheet mask or two, depending on the length of travel. I also bring with me COSRX’s Pimple Clear Pads because they’re very useful, especially when I’m too tired to do my evening routine. I also bring with me pimple patches and other pimple solutions, because I can’t really tell when I’ll have a pimple whatsoever.

Last and most importantly, sunscreen. It isn’t in my skincare travel bag because I put in inside my handbag for easier access. I use Innisfree’s Daily UV Protection Cream No Sebum because it has a mattifying effect, which makes things easier for me in the morning due to the fact that I don’t need to put powder anymore–it saves me so much time.

When choosing your skincare products, or whatever kind of product for that matter, there are a lot of things to consider–packaging, weight, etc. I know the above mentioned products does not fully comply with all the things that should be considered, but so far this set of products works for me. I’m still looking for great products that can be brought for travelling. If you have suggestions, please comment down below!

That’s all for this post, sorry if I took so long to publish a new entry. I hope you liked it though!

Until next time,

My Sister’s Very First Althea Korea Haul

IMG_7832

Finally, a decent photo on my blog! Before anything else, I would like to express how happy I am that I was finally able to post an artsy photo here because taking instagram-worthy shots is actually one of my favorite things to do, it’s just that my current job made it impossible for me to take photos during daytime and find areas where I can take some nice shots. Which is why most of the photos is this blog were obviously half-baked, or were just taken for the sake of visual aid. I apologize for that–I try my best to put creativity in my photos. But as of now, the only decent place where I do all the photography is the very small table in my apartment that can barely get good lighting. However, I still try my best to make my instagram look fancy, go on and check it out!

Okay, I’m not with my irrelevant rambling. The real post starts after this sentence!

I’ve just started obsessing over skincare products a few months ago. I’d bring something new almost every week and tell my mom, my aunt, and my sister about it. Since my sister is a really huge fan of Korean dramas, the Korean products that I bring home are always something that would interest her. She’d ask me questions about this and that, and ask me to suggest products for her oily and acne-prone skin, and I would gladly answer. I gave her some of my products and allowed her to try on some of my favorites. Slowly, she started doing her own research for her skincare needs and would ask me for help on where to find them.

Of course, I seized the moment and gave her my referral link to Althea Korea. She’s still a student thus discounts and other promotional events would really mean a lot to her savings. March is her birth month thus she had a few extra bucks to spend for herself, and I’m just glad that she chose to spend her birthday money on skincare! So there, I helped her choose the products that I think would be perfect for her.

My sister has oily skin thus I suggested that she get something that has Tea Tree in it. We also had to consider her budget so we got the cheapest one that we can find in the website. She had so many tabs opened but ended up choosing Natural Pacific’s Tea Tree Fresh Essence. She has always enjoyed my clay masks and wanted to have one for herself. Thus she got Innisfree’s Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask–I’ve read that this one is designed for oily skin, while the non-super one (which I have) is for those with normal skin. I think she’s done her research well and read a few good things about Innisfree so she bought the No-Sebum Mineral Powder and the Perfect UV protection cream. As for the last product that she bought, (the honey-colored bottle up there)I really have no idea what that is. The whole package is in Korean she she told me that it’s something for the hair. So, I’m like, okay! Your money, your choices.

She couldn’t wait to get her hands on her package and she kept on pestering me about it. I’m equally as excited for her as she was, but I know the drill already when it comes to Althea Korea. I told her to keep calm and stay classy. Lol. She tracked her package almost every day and when she found out that it’s ready for pickup, she asked me to come with her.

I live in a dorm and my sister lives at home, and I wouldn’t allow her to open her package without me so I told her to open her package in a nearby coffee shop so I can also see what’s in it. She was so excited that she wouldn’t even let me help her get all the packaging tape off the package. Lol.

Look at that satisfied look on her face!

Checking out the items she spent her money with. (Is this worth it? Am I sure with what I’m doing? Lol)

My sister with her children! For more generations to come!

I haven’t heard anything from her ever since she got her products. But I do think that she’s loving all of them because if she isn’t, I’ll be the first person to know. I’m going to see her in a while and give her some of the products from my own shelf that I think would be better for her and ask her of her opinion on the products she bought.

If you would also like to enjoy the discount that my sister benefited with in this haul, click this link and enjoy shopping!
