What’s in my Skincare Travel Bag? Also, Travelling Skincare Routine!!

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted anything in this blog. As I have mentioned on my latest post, the month of June had been a very busy month for me. I was out travelling on official business for two weeks. Although my schedule has strained me from blogging, it gave me another topic to talk about, which is my travelling skincare routine.

If you guys have been following me, you’ll know that I travel a lot. And being a skincare enthusiast, bringing my whole skincare routine everywhere with me is quite a struggle. Yknow, all the space that the bottles consume, the possible leakages and breakages, not being able to do a full 10-step routine, and the possibility of forgetting a bottle or two anywhere.

It took my quite some time to finally come up with a travelling skincare routine that isn’t that inconvenient but at the same time, feels enough for my skincare needs.

Introducing, my travelling skincare bag!! I got this toiletry bag from Beauty Bar SM MOA. I can’t remember the exact price, but I’m pretty much sure it’s less than 500PHP. Aside from my skincare, I also put my other hygiene products in it (that I removed for this photo except for my deodorant, which is neatly tucked on one of the corners of the bag… you can see its cover in the photo.)

The usual skincare routine has 10 steps, this one, on the other hand, only has 8 steps (excluding the sheet masks, of course), but I personally think that this is sufficient enough to provide my skin its needs.

  1. Oil cleanser/ foam cleanser

NAKEUP FACE STRESS ZERO CLEANSING STICK – This 3-in-1 cleansing stick is one of the best skincare products I have because it’s very handy and convenient for travelling. It’s small and light, and since it’s in stick form, I don’t have to worry about spilling it all over my bag. Also, it serves as a makeup remover, oil cleanser, and foam cleanser. So, imagine all the storage space that I was able to save because of this product. Plus, this cleansing stick smells so relaxing, it reminds me of the spa.

2. Toner

BENTON SNAIL BEE HIGH CONTENT SKIN – This product is larger than 100mL thus I wouldn’t recommend putting this on your carry-on baggage if you don’t want it to be confiscated by airport security. I sometimes put this in a smaller plastic bottle to save space, since I don’t really need a lot when I’m out travelling. I actually want to use a spray toner for travelling, and I actually own one, but I think this works better for my skin so I bring this one instead of the other spray toner I have.

3. Essence

ETUDE HOUSE MOISTFULL COLLAGEN ESSENCE – I have dry/combination skin, thus it is important to keep my skin moisturized especially during travels. This is also my daily essence and I bring this with me during travels because it’s small and portable, also, it’s in a plastic container so I don’t have to worry breaking it.

4. Eye Cream

ELIZAVECCA GOLD-CF NEST WHITE BOMB EYE CREAM – This is my daily morning eye cream, but I use this both in the morning and at night during travels because between my two eye creams, this one is much easier to bring around and easier to apply because of the tube container. I prefer to bring this alone for my eye cream instead of bringing two different products because my nightly eye cream is much heavier than this one, thus it’s not something that I can use in the morning without allotting a lot of my time in waiting for my skin to absorb the product. Unlike my day eye cream, it can work for both mornings and evenings.

5. Emulsion

MOISTFULL COLLAGEN EMULSION – I actually have this in full size, it just so happened that I also have a small sample bottle that I got months ago. I simply refill my sample bottle with the same product, and bring it everywhere I go, hassle-free.

6. Moisturizer

ONSAEMEEIN PERFECT MOISTURE CREAM – I don’t really recommend bringing this product around unless you have a proper container for it because it has a glass container, and it might break it crushed inside your luggage. However, I brought this moisturizer with me because my usual moisturizer is BIG AF (Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Cream), and this is the only light moisturizer that I currently have in my stash that works for me both in the night and day. I also add two drops of Dear Klairs’ Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop with this cream before applying it to give my face that extra nourishment that it needs.

7. Lip Cream

LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK – I only use this lip cream for my evening routine because I would much prefer use a lighter lip balm during the day. I don’t really bring this product whenever I travel, except when I’ll be away for more than five days. After all, this lip mask is meant to be travel friendly. Also, this is can be very useful when traveling via plane because that long ride can really dry your lips and nothing else can save those lips except for this heaven-sent lip mask.

Aside from the products stated above, I also bring with me a sheet mask or two, depending on the length of travel. I also bring with me COSRX’s Pimple Clear Pads because they’re very useful, especially when I’m too tired to do my evening routine. I also bring with me pimple patches and other pimple solutions, because I can’t really tell when I’ll have a pimple whatsoever.

Last and most importantly, sunscreen. It isn’t in my skincare travel bag because I put in inside my handbag for easier access. I use Innisfree’s Daily UV Protection Cream No Sebum because it has a mattifying effect, which makes things easier for me in the morning due to the fact that I don’t need to put powder anymore–it saves me so much time.

When choosing your skincare products, or whatever kind of product for that matter, there are a lot of things to consider–packaging, weight, etc. I know the above mentioned products does not fully comply with all the things that should be considered, but so far this set of products works for me. I’m still looking for great products that can be brought for travelling. If you have suggestions, please comment down below!

That’s all for this post, sorry if I took so long to publish a new entry. I hope you liked it though!

Until next time,

Meesh ❤

Update: All-Korean Evening Skincare Routine

IMG_9391

Hey guys! It’s been quite some time since my last post and I’m really sorry for that. I’ve been traveling here and there, and I didn’t have enough time to write a post. Anyway, here I am right now with my updated Evening Skincare Routine!

Before anything else, I would like to emphasize that all the products in this routine came from Korean brands and this is the very first lineup in my history of skincare where every single product is Korean. I consider this as a big step for me and an achievement. I’m not saying that none-Korean products aren’t good, but my skincare routine is patterned after the Korean routine and it’s not easy to let go of my non-Korean skincare favorites. But I wanted to experience this All-Korean routine at least once in my life so… here we go.

  1. Oil Cleanser – Hopegirl Jamong Cleansing Balm
  2. Foam Cleanser – Skinfood Tea Tree Moisture Cleansing Foam
  3. Exfoliator – Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
  4. Toner – Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin
  5. Essence – Etude House Moistfull Collagen Essence
  6. Serum – Innisfree Tangerine Vita C Serum
  7. Sheet Mask – To be honest, I don’t use any particular sheet mask. I just buy what looks interesting and add it to my stash…
  8. Eye Cream – Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream
  9. Moisturizer – Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera
  10. Night Cream – Caolion Pore Tightening Memory Sleeping Mask
  11. Lip Cream – Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask [Berry]

11 products all in all! Lip creams aren’t usually mentioned or included in the famous 10-step Korean Skincare Routine, but I find using a lip product at night a necessity. I do use clay masks and other treatment products whenever needed, but these 11 products are the core of my routine thus these are the only items that I included here.

Unlike my other blog posts about Skincare routines, I didn’t write a short review on any of the products mentioned above because I’m planning on writing individual reviews on each and every one of them in my succeeding posts. So, if you want to know more about any item in this routine, just wait for my post in the coming days or weeks!

That’s all for now and I hope you liked this update.

XOXO,

Second Althea Korea Haul

IMG_8636

Yay! Another box of my beloved skincare products from Korea! I have had a couple of transactions with Althea Korea already, but some of them does not really count as a “haul” because they were Althea Boxes–a pre-selected set of products that follows a certain theme and sold collectively per box. In this haul, I handpicked each and every item in the box. Thus, this by far is just my second Althea Korea haul. It actually feels weird that this is only the second, I feel like I buy something from Althea almost every other week.

(RELATED: Althea Korea Skincare Haul)

As much as possible, I try to avoid buying too many products, especially when I still have something that I can use. However, I don’t want to purchase products individually. A single product always has to go with something when I buy them. The items in this haul had been sitting in my Althea bag for quite some time already, I just don’t have enough reason to checkout. Thus, when I realized that I was already running out of toner, I decided that it’s already time for me to do my second haul.

Also, I had a 10% discount code for reviewing one of my purchases (wait for Althea Korea to email you and offer a discount when you review your latest purchase), I also had 100 referral points from my sister’s successful purchase through my referral code. I actually love and hate this point system that they have because it always makes me come back. Also, the one month expiration of the 10% discount coupons does not really help at all. Not using them and using them will make me regret things either way.

Here’s a list of the products from my haul and why I bought them:

Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin (885php)– As I have mentioned earlier, I was prompted to make this haul because I was running out of toner. This one from Benton wasn’t really my first choice, but just as I have finally decided to order, my toner of choice ran out of stock. Since purchasing a toner was a necessity, I went and looked for another toner to purchase and found this. I have always wanted to try incorporating Snail Mucin in it on my skincare routine, and I have always trusted the bees for skin nourishment. This seemed to be a popular product, so I decided to go with this instead.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (740php)– I’ve been wanting this for the longest time. Lately, I’ve been looking for lipcare products that will replace the ones in my current routines, especially my evening routine because I’m almost out of my current lip balm. This gave me the opening to finally decide and purchase this lip mask. I have read and watched reviews about this and I have been really curious because it’s a mask. It seemed more appropriate to use before bedtime compared to the regular lip balm.

CP-1 Raspberry Treatment Vinegar (350php)– Raspberry had been my hair’s signature scent for three years until Watsons stopped selling Clairol Long Term Relationship Shampoo and Conditioner. I did not know where to find my beloved hair treatments anymore and I couldn’t find anything that had the raspberry scent with it until I found this product. Also, I’m looking for something that will tame my hair so I can quit going for a hair rebonding treatment every year. Hope this product helps me.

Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder (260php)– My sister purchased this product in her haul and I tried it once. It totally helped reduce the shine/dewy effect of my sun cream in the morning and I love how it’s not as cake-y as my current face powder, so I decided to get one for myself.

Innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream (No Sebum) (494php)– This, I think is the less popular sun protection cream from Innisfree. I can understand because this only has SPF 35 while the other one has SPF 50. However, while I was comparing both products, this one is said to have a matte finish–and you know how much I prefer a matte finish compared to the dewy finish of most skincare products. This is perfect for mornings especially when I’m in a hurry and I have no time to fix my greasy-looking face after a layer of moisturizer and other skincare.

All in all, including the discount, this box costs P2,356.10. Not bad for 5 items.

I’ve made it a rule that whenever I do a haul, the total must be less than 2,500php. Which is why although I still have a few more items in mind, I decided to save them for my next haul and hope that they won’t be out of stock when that day comes. I don’t want to buy a lot of things all at once, especially when they’re not that necessary yet. And I also don’t want to find myself broke after buying a truckload of products that could wait until I use them. I need to budget my expenditures to sustain my skincare obsession and my other needs. I’m not forcing myself to buy products so I’ll have something to talk about–I don’t have that much allowance and space in my pad for that. Also, I still have a few products that I haven’t reviewed yet–I don’t see myself running out of things to post in the near future. I’ll just buy things according to necessity, and of course, curiosity.

Also, I am not a perfect person, and there may be times when temptation is strong. However, I will still try my best and be a good and responsible girl.

P.S. My next Althea Korea haul is an exemption because it’s my birthday gift for myself.

Until my next haul,

Meesh ❤
