PRODUCT EXPERIENCE: Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

It is about time that I talk about the product that changed my life! I have already mentioned on this blog post about the wonders of Vitamin C, thus I will not dwell on how this serum from Dear Klairs should work, instead I’ll tell you guys how it worked for me.

As you guys know, I got this product last June from an Althea Haul (related: May 2017 Althea Korea Haul (Also, where was I the past few days?) and I immediately started using it the week after I got my box. Mainly because this serum has been on my wishlist for the longest time, but I was only able to purchase it last May because it always goes out of stock in Althea. Also, the amazing effects of my Body Shop Vitamin C SPF got me really stoked to try anything that has Vitamin C on it.

Since I have read that people with sensitive skin should test this first before applying it directly to the face, I first tried using it by mixing two drops of this serum on my Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel. As expected, it didn’t have any result in the first application, but I somehow loved the feel of the mixture on my face. It wasn’t sticky, and it absorbed fast–leaving a really smooth and supple finish. It was a completely different texture from just putting the Aloe Vera Gel alone.

(related:Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Gel Review)

So, for a month I used Dear Klair’s Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop in the same way, every morning and evening. Guys, you know that I started using Korean Skincare since January 2017, and I have noticed positive results on my face, people were saying that I look whiter and my skin looked smoother–but, only after using this product did I really feel like there was something phenomenal going on. While I was still mixing it with my moisturizer, I noticed that my skin cleared up. Small scars slowly disappeared and the hyperpigmentation on my face was gone. There was this area on my left temple that has a bluish shade that has been there since forever–and although no one really notices it because it only looked like small hair, I notice it every time I look in the mirror. But after religiously using this Vitamin C serum, I just can’t find it on my face anymore, and that simple change amazed me to the core.

Thus, after a month of mixing it with my moisturizer. I’ve decided to start applying it directly on my face after my essence. My skin had a positive response to this change, and I’ve noticed that my face actually looked brighter and my skin texture became even. There were less bumps, and I have said this once and I said it again, the skin was smoother, and somehow, it looked very different from my skin before. Also, I started using this in the morning alone because I have a different AHA serum in the evening.

IMG_5082This is how my Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop bottle looks like now. As you can see, the shiny label is almost erased off.

Now, you guys might think that I am overpraising this serum from Dear Klair’s because I also use other products and those other products might have also contributed to the wonders that is happening to my skin right now. But guys, mind you, among all the products that I currently use, this one is the most that I have been religious to. There was not a day I never used this, and I bring this to my travels–and when I’m travelling, my skincare routine changes, but this one remains in the routine. The only difference is that, I use this product twice, both morning and evening when I’m travelling. I only use this in the morning on normal days.

After a month, I changed my essence and I realized that the essence was thicker than this serum. Thus, to follow the light to heavy order, I decided to apply this first before my essence–and that has been going on for almost a month now. And things are still doing good, and doing better.

It started turning yellowish after three months of using it. However, according to my ~*research*~, the slight change of color of this product does not affect its effectivity because of the kind of Vitamin C used here. (check this out for more info)

IMG_5086 This is how yellow the product is now.

It still feels warm on the skin when applied up until this very day. I’m halfway done with the whole bottle and I have been using it for five months now. Therefore I can say that is serum is really worth every single penny I’ve spent on it.

I haven’t decided yet if I should repurchase it later or if I should look for a different Vitamin C serum to try. But guys, this product is so good, I’m not sure if anything else can be better. I recommend this to everyone who wants better skin, and for those who might have sensitive skin, just put two drops of this on your moisturizer so it wouldn’t come too strong.

By the way, for better results, leave it on your face for 10-20 minutes before applying the next product.

I hope this post helped you a lot, and if you have other vitamin C suggestions, please comment down below.

Thank you and I hope we all achieve that smooth glowing skin that we all want! ❤

What’s in my Skincare Travel Bag? Also, Travelling Skincare Routine!!

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted anything in this blog. As I have mentioned on my latest post, the month of June had been a very busy month for me. I was out travelling on official business for two weeks. Although my schedule has strained me from blogging, it gave me another topic to talk about, which is my travelling skincare routine.

If you guys have been following me, you’ll know that I travel a lot. And being a skincare enthusiast, bringing my whole skincare routine everywhere with me is quite a struggle. Yknow, all the space that the bottles consume, the possible leakages and breakages, not being able to do a full 10-step routine, and the possibility of forgetting a bottle or two anywhere.

It took my quite some time to finally come up with a travelling skincare routine that isn’t that inconvenient but at the same time, feels enough for my skincare needs.

IMG_1536

Introducing, my travelling skincare bag!! I got this toiletry bag from Beauty Bar SM MOA. I can’t remember the exact price, but I’m pretty much sure it’s less than 500PHP. Aside from my skincare, I also put my other hygiene products in it (that I removed for this photo except for my deodorant, which is neatly tucked on one of the corners of the bag… you can see its cover in the photo.)

IMG_1528

The usual skincare routine has 10 steps, this one, on the other hand, only has 8 steps (excluding the sheet masks, of course), but I personally think that this is sufficient enough to provide my skin its needs.

  1. Oil cleanser/ foam cleanser

NAKEUP FACE STRESS ZERO CLEANSING STICK – This 3-in-1 cleansing stick is one of the best skincare products I have because it’s very handy and convenient for travelling. It’s small and light, and since it’s in stick form, I don’t have to worry about spilling it all over my bag. Also, it serves as a makeup remover, oil cleanser, and foam cleanser. So, imagine all the storage space that I was able to save because of this product. Plus, this cleansing stick smells so relaxing, it reminds me of the spa.

2. Toner

BENTON SNAIL BEE HIGH CONTENT SKIN – This product is larger than 100mL thus I wouldn’t recommend putting this on your carry-on baggage if you don’t want it to be confiscated by airport security. I sometimes put this in a smaller plastic bottle to save space, since I don’t really need a lot when I’m out travelling. I actually want to use a spray toner for travelling, and I actually own one, but I think this works better for my skin so I bring this one instead of the other spray toner I have.

3. Essence

ETUDE HOUSE MOISTFULL COLLAGEN ESSENCE – I have dry/combination skin, thus it is important to keep my skin moisturized especially during travels. This is also my daily essence and I bring this with me during travels because it’s small and portable, also, it’s in a plastic container so I don’t have to worry breaking it.

4. Eye Cream

ELIZAVECCA GOLD-CF NEST WHITE BOMB EYE CREAM – This is my daily morning eye cream, but I use this both in the morning and at night during travels because between my two eye creams, this one is much easier to bring around and easier to apply because of the tube container. I prefer to bring this alone for my eye cream instead of bringing two different products because my nightly eye cream is much heavier than this one, thus it’s not something that I can use in the morning without allotting a lot of my time in waiting for my skin to absorb the product. Unlike my day eye cream, it can work for both mornings and evenings.

5. Emulsion

MOISTFULL COLLAGEN EMULSION – I actually have this in full size, it just so happened that I also have a small sample bottle that I got months ago. I simply refill my sample bottle with the same product, and bring it everywhere I go, hassle-free.

6. Moisturizer

ONSAEMEEIN PERFECT MOISTURE CREAM – I don’t really recommend bringing this product around unless you have a proper container for it because it has a glass container, and it might break it crushed inside your luggage. However, I brought this moisturizer with me because my usual moisturizer is BIG AF (Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Cream), and this is the only light moisturizer that I currently have in my stash that works for me both in the night and day. I also add two drops of Dear Klairs’ Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop with this cream before applying it to give my face that extra nourishment that it needs.

7. Lip Cream

LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK – I only use this lip cream for my evening routine because I would much prefer use a lighter lip balm during the day. I don’t really bring this product whenever I travel, except when I’ll be away for more than five days. After all, this lip mask is meant to be travel friendly. Also, this is can be very useful when traveling via plane because that long ride can really dry your lips and nothing else can save those lips except for this heaven-sent lip mask.

Aside from the products stated above, I also bring with me a sheet mask or two, depending on the length of travel. I also bring with me COSRX’s Pimple Clear Pads because they’re very useful, especially when I’m too tired to do my evening routine. I also bring with me pimple patches and other pimple solutions, because I can’t really tell when I’ll have a pimple whatsoever.

Last and most importantly, sunscreen. It isn’t in my skincare travel bag because I put in inside my handbag for easier access. I use Innisfree’s Daily UV Protection Cream No Sebum because it has a mattifying effect, which makes things easier for me in the morning due to the fact that I don’t need to put powder anymore–it saves me so much time.

When choosing your skincare products, or whatever kind of product for that matter, there are a lot of things to consider–packaging, weight, etc. I know the above mentioned products does not fully comply with all the things that should be considered, but so far this set of products works for me. I’m still looking for great products that can be brought for travelling. If you have suggestions, please comment down below!

That’s all for this post, sorry if I took so long to publish a new entry. I hope you liked it though!

Until next time,

Meesh ❤

May 2017 Althea Korea Haul (Also, where was I the past few days?)

Hello everyone! I am so so so sorry, I haven’t updated in a while. I know I promised in my last post that I’ll be posting reviews of the products in my Skincare routine–I’m not really sure if anyone actually looked forward to that; but if anyone has been waiting, I’m really sorry. I’ve been busy and I have been travelling in the last few weeks. Also, I’m trying to be a better gym-goer by going to the gym more often. Thus, I didn’t have enough time to write a blog post.

To be honest, I can’t really promise that I’ll go back to my usual blogging schedule (one ever other day, or thrice a week) because I have a fully loaded schedule ahead of me, and I don’t think I can sit down and write something for this blog until July.

But don’t worry, once I figure things out, I’ll come up with a blogging schedule and religiously stick to it. As of now, I’m still trying to adjust to things. Actually, I’m kinda sad because I have to adjust my gym schedule, my supposed boxing sessions, and my Chinese classes to cater my upcoming schedule. Anyway, I’m positive that I will still be able to do the things that I love despite the busy-ness, I just have to learn how to manage my time.

So, before I run out of time (I’m currently waiting for a phone call), here’s what’s inside my May 2017 Althea Box:

IMG_1172

  • Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop – I shouldn’t be buying this because I still have a vitamin C serum from innisfree. But this product is rarely available so I just took the chance and added it to my cart.
  • Nakeup Face Stress Zero Cleansing Stick – Since I’m living the live of a jet setter, I thought I should invest in a travel-friendly facial cleanser. I chose this because it’s 3-in-1 and it’s really easy to carry around and I don’t need to worry about spills.
  • Innisfree No Sebum Powder Cream – I was actually planning on minimizing my online shopping by only buying what I really need. This purchase happened because I ran out of my Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder and I intended to repurchase. However, I realized that the powder would be more suitable for oily skin, and since I have dry-sensitive-normal skin, I searched for a powder for suitable for my skin type and found this. This powder cream is a new product from Innisfree in Althea and I’m just thrilled to be one of the first few people to have it.
  • Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder – Although I already put the powder cream in my cart, I was thinking that I may not like it so I still added the mineral powder for backup.
  • Onsaemeein Perfect Moisture Cream – I actually had this cream a few months ago, it came with my Althea Anti-Pollution Box, and I absolutely loved it. Thus, I decided to repurchase.

IMG_1170

Last but not the least–this actually came as a surprise to me– Althea gave me a free CP-1 Ceramide Treatment Protein Repair System Premium Silk Ampoule. Thank you so much, Althea! I’m still looking for the best products for my hair and this one is a delightful addition to my experiment.

That’s all for my May 2017 haul. I ordered it late thus I received it late. Haha! Anyway, I’m starting to realize which products are best for me and which aren’t, thus I’m more careful with the products I buy. I’m just so happy that I’m almost done with my experimental phase with Korean Skincare (although finding the best products will always be an experiment, at least now I’ve narrowed down my options.) I’m not this lost girl who’s very much overwhelmed with the variety of options anymore, I’m now this girl who knows what I want and need. I came to realize that I don’t always need to have the newest, the latest, and the hottest products in store. What I need are the products good for my skin, and it might be something found in the less visited pages of Althea or somewhere else. I’m now more careful with what I buy, and I hope the same thing happens to everyone, especially those who are new to Korean Skincare. Experimenting can’t be avoided, but you have to know your skin first before slathering products on it, or worst things might happen.

See you in a few weeks,

Meesh ❤

My Birthday Haul from Althea Korea

IMG_9277Yes, you’ve read it right, it’s my birthday haul! I just turned a year older last month (April), and with that, I decided to gift myself a box of Korean skincare products from Althea. You might be wondering: what’s so special about this haul? I buy stuff from Althea every month and surely, a box like this sounds quite normal for me.

First of all, it is special because I bought it using the birthday money that I received. Second, this box has eight items in it–more than the usual number of items that I would get. And third, this whole haul slightly costs more than the amount that I would usually spend for an Althea Haul.

Also, on my birthday itself, I received 100 Points from a purchase made using my referral link. Thanks Car! You really made me happy! You guys should check out her blog, she likes talking about skincare and beauty as well. I used those points, along with a 10% off code because I reviewed a previous purchase, for this haul.

Sooo… what are the products that I got for my birthday haul and why did I get them?

Despite this being a gift for myself, the items that I bought are items that I actually need. These items are backups of the products that I’m using in my current skincare routine that I’m about to run out soon. The only items that I bought out of curiosity were the Innisfree Capsule Recipe Packs–I’ve decided to hold buying clay/mud masks because I have way too many already and I’m not sure if I can use them all before they expire.

Innisfree Tangerine Vita C Serum – After everything that I’ve learned about Vitamin C and the wonders that it can do to my skin, I’ve decided that it should be on my daily routine. Originally, I wanted Dear Klairs’ Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop, but it was out of stock just when I have decided to do a haul. I opted for this one instead because although I’ve only heard of the product the moment I searched “Vitamin C” on Althea’s search box, I’m quite confident with Innisfree.

Caolion Pore Tightening Day and Night Glowing Duo – I was running out of my current day cream and I was quite torn if I should repurchase or try a different cream. Adding this product to my list was the most difficult decision that I did with this haul. Firstly because I only wanted a day cream but when I searched for the Caolion day cream alone, it was much more expensive compared to buying this duo. Also, I was really thinking of putting this product off the list because it’s more expensive than my current cream. But then again, the day cream has EVERYTHING–I mean, EVERYTHING–that I want on my face. Rice Bran Water! Honey Extract! Snail Secretion Filtrate! My favorite ingredients! I cannot say no to this baby. The night cream didn’t sound as tempting to me as the day cream, but it won’t hurt me to try. So I decided t give it a go. (But deep inside me I still want to keep an extra bottle of Onsameein’s Perfect Moisture Cream.)

Aritaum Ginger Sugar Lip Scrub – after all the lip fiasco that I had the past few weeks, I realized that having a lip scrub would be handy. So I put this in my bag.

(RELATED: Product Experience: Nivea Raspberry Rose Lip Butter)

Innisfree Capsule Recipe Packs – In Canola Honey, Green Tea, and Aloe. These are ingredients that are quite famous for doing wonders to the skin thus I decided to purchase them. Also, I’m a frequent traveller. It would be easy for me to bring masks in smaller containers like this than to bring a large tub.

Elizavecca Gold CF-Nest White Eye Bomb Cream – I found this product in the sale section of Althea. I’m almost out of my current daily eye cream (Etude House’s Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum) and I didn’t want to use my current night eye cream during the day, so I searched for a lightweight eye cream for my morning ritual. The advertising they had at the Althea website had me. It was so convincing! They say that this can help lessen the wrinkles and brighten the under eyes so that the user would look more alive and fresh. I just hope that it’s true.

Milky Dress Take Care Mist – I’m not really familiar with the brand Milky Dress, but I saw this product while I was looking for a face mist in Althea and it looks promising. It’s also inexpensive (320php) so I decided to give it a try. I realized that I should start bringing a face mist with me especially whenever I travel because my face can get really dehydrated during the plane flight or during half day-long road trips with no access to fresh air.

Dear Klairs Rich Soothing Sheet Mask – These sheet masks are quite popular among bloggers and other skincare enthusiasts, so I decided to add two of them on my list too experience its wonders first hand.

All in all, the products in this haul are mainly “try” products. By try products, I mean products that aren’t really popular, or products that are quite unnoticed by a number of people (although they came from famous brands) but they seem to deliver good effects based on the advertising. I honestly don’t remember reading or watching about the majority of the products above. I just chose what I can find in the website. I thought that it would be a good practice to try out new products rather than just going with the trends. Although of course, when it comes it skincare, the trends are very reliable because they’re already tested and there’s a huge percent that they would work wonderfully compared to the probability of these not-so-discovered products giving us flawless skin. I guess having my wishlisted products out of stock also has an upside because it forces me to try these products.

Right now, I’m thinking of buying a new essence and a Korean acne solution cream/gel. Also, although I’m staring to love my current emulsion, I’m now researching which emulsion I should purchase next. So guys, watch out for the next haul!

Until then,
