Bench Organics Haul

Hey guys! My first haul post for 2018! I actually bought these items on the last week of 2017. And to be honest, these items sparked my interest in exploring local beauty products.

So, I was in Mactan Cebu International Airport when I first saw these organic products from Bench. I already got curious because it’s something new, and it’s something that I’d like to try. However, I didn’t buy anything yet because I’m at the airport on my way to Dumaguete and I really didn’t want to bring too many hand-carried items/bags with me on the plane. I bought these products at Robinsons Place Dumaguete shortly after.

By the way, if you do not know what Bench is, Bench is an international clothing brand from the Philippines that also sells a few beauty products. I’m not really sure as to when they launched Bench Organics, but I go to a Bench store at least once a month and last month was the first time I saw these products on their shelves.

I will explain more as I go through the products I bought so here they are:

Bench Organics Argan Oil from Morocco

This was actually the product that really caught my eye. As you guys know, I’ve been trying to find the perfect products for my hair because I’m trying to make it less dependent of salon treatments. I have tried several drugstore shampoos that has Argan Oil on them and they worked perfectly on my hair. Now, I know this bottle of Argan Oil from Bench Organics is more geared to be used on the skin, but since it’s just an oil and the bottle also indicated that it can be used for the hair (it’s on the back, btw, idk why this photo looks entirely different from my other shots but please forgive my inconsistency) so I got myself a bottle. I also use it as a body oil if I feel like it, but I really bought this oil for my hair.

Bench Organics 92% Aloe Face & Body Mist

(I lost the cap of this huhu sorry) Buying this wasn’t really part of the plan because I only meant to buy the Argan Oil. However, I realized that I don’t really own a mist yet, I bought one before but I can’t find it anymore. Thus, I decided to get this bottle. I know for a fact that Aloe Vera is good for my skin and I thought that having a mist will be helpful especially when I need to awaken my senses when I feel sleepy or tired.

Bench Organics spf 50+ pa+++ Aloe Cool Sunblock

I was actually contemplating if I should get this sunblock because I already have a lot of sun creams. However, I don’t have a spray-type one and I thought that this would be convenient for reapplying sunscreen. You know, I don’t really follow the “re-apply your sunscreen every two hours” rule because I find it too tedious especially when I have makeup on–like, I have to re-do my makeup if I want to reapply my sunscreen every two hours and who has time for that? Which is why I decided to get this product. Because with this spray sunblock, I don’t have to massage the product on my face after spraying it on. I just have to pat it until my skin absorbs the product and I’m done. There’s less risk of ruining my blush and other makeup (although I only use blush most of the time.) I’ve actually started using this already. As soon as I wake up, I grab this sunblock and spray it on my face before breakfast because I’m too lazy to do my morning routine yet. It’s the most convenient sunscreen that I have ever had yet. I’m not sure if it is as effective as other SPF products (who really knows, anyway?) but I find comfort in knowing the fact that I applied sunblock before facing the sun.

I don’t really know if there are other Bench Organics products out there because these three were the only items that I was able to see in the Robinsons Dumaguete branch. And since I had enough Christmas money to buy all three, that’s what I did! Haha. I can’t really say if I will be looking forward to trying the other products from Bench Organics because I’m not really a big fan of the brand (but I don’t hate them!), but I might probably buy other products from the same brand if I find it interesting or useful for me. It really depends. But so far, these items that I have shown you guys hasn’t disappointed me and I have been using them every day ever since I first opened the product.

I hope you guys found this post helpful. And for my fellow Filipinos out there who can easily access these products, go ahead and try them! Let’s support our own products!

That’s all for today and I hope you enjoyed reading this post! Till then,

Watsons Hair Care Haul

One of my frustrations in life is getting gorgeous hair. I really envy people who has naturally soft and manageable hair. Mine requires at least one rebond session per year so it would look decent enough for the public. I was actually hoping that since I’ve been rebonding my hair since 2009, it would adapt to the chemicals and other stuff that they put on my hair and be independent from rebond sessions soon.  But still, after a few months or so, the medicine starts wearing off as I slowly turn into a human with a bird’s nest on top of my head. It’s so frustrating and I can’t do anything about it. I always have to go back to the salon if I want to look presentable, even though I really want my hair to be treatment-dependent.

I had this haul thinking that maybe, if I gave my hair extra care, I won’t need to go to the salon anymore. This is my attempt to make my hair look better.

TRESemme Split Repair Shampoo and Serum – I originally wanted to buy the conditioner from this line along with these two, but I wasn’t so sure that my hair would react nicely to it. Since these products are focused on repairing, I was thinking that they might not do much in making my hair softer or smoother so I opted for a different conditioner that will surely give my hair the softness that it needs. Anyway, I particularly chose these two products from TRESemme because one of my major hair problems are my split ends–like, they cover almost half the length of my hair! I’m not really sure because I’m not a hair care expert, but I’m hoping that fixing my split-ends problem is a good start for me to have the nice, shiny, and manageable hair that I’ve always wanted.

Dove Hair Therapy Straight and Silky Conditioner – I wasn’t really a fan of Dove before, because the first time I tried it, my hair just became more unruly. However, I gave Dove a second chance a few months ago and I immediately loved how it made my hair feel lighter and softer. I would have bought the Shampoo from this line too, but I’m eager on solving my hair problems so I decided to buy something else.

Golden Fabulouz Keratin Argan Oil Hot Oil Treatment – When I had my hair rebonded October last year, the salon lady told me that I need to undergo Hot Oil treatment every month for maintenance. Of course, I didn’t do that because it’s quite expensive and honestly I think it’s too extravagant to go for a hot oil treatment every month. While I still have it on my mind to go to the salon for the said maintenance one of these days, I was hoping that this would help lock in the medicine from my rebonding session a few months ago.

I didn’t know that this product was on a buy one take one promo until the cashier informed me. Thus, I just picked up the first thing that I saw in the shelves for my take one (I didn’t want the long line of buyers in the cashier to wait longer because of my indecisiveness). Golden Fabulous Keratin Hot Oil Cream with Green Tea seems to be a good choice, to be honest, I was also looking at this one while I was looking for stuff to buy.

Ellips Hair Vitamin Hair Treatment – I really wanted to try this before because it looks really interesting and I’ve always wondered if products like this does wonders to the hair. I honestly think that keeping something like this is my regimen is a really huge step, so I’m hoping that this hair vitamin will do me good.

I’m fairly new to this hair care thing, and to be honest, I’m not expecting stellar results from all these products immediately. It might take time before my hair actually starts absorbing all these chemicals that will change it. But I’m hoping to notice an improvement after a few months with this set of products. Just like my skincare, this will be a trial and error process, and I know finding the prefect set of hair care products for me will take some time. However, I’m willing to enjoy the journey to having fabulous hair. I’ll write a review for some of the products in this haul soon and make my recommendations.

As I start my quest for the perfect products for perfect hair, please help me by giving me tips and suggestions in the comment box. Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

To better hair days and flawless skin,

Meesh ❤
