Product Review: Skin79 Super Beblesh Balm Triple Functions

IMG_5536

They say that skincare is useless if you don’t use SPF. Therefore, I always make sure that I have applied sun cream every time I go outside. Honestly, I was against the thought of applying anything on my face in the morning at first because I didn’t want my face to look too oily, or greasy, or powdery, or clowny whatsoever. But as time went by I realized that I can actually apply makeup and the greasy film of sunscreen can be toned down with the right powder.

IMG_5538

Using makeup such as BB creams to double as my SPF never really occurred to me because I honestly thought that they are not as effective as SPF products alone. However, my friend sent me this BB Cream from SKIN79 because she loves me, and I read that it is a highly upgraded sunscreen… I know it might just be for advertising when it’s obviouly more of a makeup than a skincare product. But who cares! this is SPF50, my usual SPF was only 30, thus this one might just give me more UV protection.

IMG_5542

The bottle says that SKIN79’s Super Plus Beblesh Balm Triple Functions is focused on Whitening/Anti-Wrinkle/ Ultraviolet rays protection SPF50+ PA+++. It is a highly upgraded sunscreen reduces skin discoloration and skin aging caused by UV A & B. (please ignore the grammar, I’m only copying what’s written on the bottle.)

Phytospingosine and Ceramide as similar ingredients to skin strengthen skin’s protective barrierand maintain skin balance. OSMOPUR-N and Vita-V Complex soothe and protect from skin damage caused by harmful environment to produce moistful and healthy-looking skin.

DIRECTIONS

Use proper amount on your face and spread it evenly.

IMG_5540

For my face I only need one pump to cover everything up. I simply blot the product around my face with a beauty blender until everything looks even.

IMG_5546

Here’s what my skin looks like without the BB cream.IMG_5548

And here it is with the BB cream.

Generally speaking, I like this product. I immediately fell in love with it the first time I tried it on and decided to use it as my daily BB cream–breaking my “makeup is different from skincare” rule and “no makeup just powder and concealer” rule. Simply because it makes my skin appear more even with or without concealer.

I also like its consistency, not too thick and not too watery. It’s just enough for me to be able to spread the product evenly without worrying that it might cake up. Oh, and that’s also one thing, this BB cream does not cake. However, this leaves a very dewy finish that makes me look not-so-pretty in photos unless if I use loose powder.

Also, I’m glad that my friend gave me the right shade because as you can see in the above photos, there were no much difference between my bare skin and the one with this BB cream except that it looks more even and the red patches and visible veins were gone. Although it highlighted the chicken skin a bit, I don’t think I have that problem on my face so I’m not really bothered by that. Overall, my skin looks younger with this BB cream.

My skin surprisingly had a good reaction to this product. Before, I would stay away from using makeup because I tend to get breakouts when using them. But with this one, I barely got any even though I used this every single day.

I think my only major concern with this is the packaging–it isn’t travel friendly and it looks like something that will be scattered all over your pouch if you don’t securely pack it. Which is why I put this inside its box and place it on a safe place in my luggage where it won’t be crushed by my other stuff–which is by the way, really difficult to do because I tend to pack more than what my bags can allow. I’m thinking of repackaging it to a smaller travel bottle to make it less of a hassle for me to bring it everywhere, But I’m afraid that the product might dry up inside the new container and waste a generous amount of it. So, I’m not sure if putting this in a travel bottle is still a good idea.

Anyway, that’s all I can say about this product. I totally recommend this to everyone and I’m pretty much sure I’m going to purchase this once I run out of it soon.

By the way, the friend that gave me this BB cream from SKIN79 also sells this, and a variety of other beauty products in her instagram page @nudieorganics. Check out her IG if you’re interested!

I hope you found this post helpful!

Product Review: Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off

Skinfood’s Black Sugar Mask is one of my very first skincare products as it was very popular during the first few months of 2017–right when my skincare obsession has started. This product has been featured several times in my skincare routine posts but I have never written a full-on review about this baby ever since. But that does not mean that this amazing exfoliator isn’t a gem.

IMG_5528

(Disclaimer: please do not mind the black spots on the lid, my cleaning lady used to splash water ALL OVER MY BATHROOM leaving all of my skincare products wet, and unfortunately the label of this product was printed on paper, hence the black spots.)

I use this sugar mask at least once or twice a week, I don’t bring it with me during my travels but I make sure that I use this before I fly to somewhere else and immediately the night after I get back home..or to my dorm.

IMG_5530

After leaving this on my face for 15-20 minutes, I would wash it off and apply a clay mask to my liking next. It’s usually Innisfree’s Jeju Volcanic Clay Mask, if not, it’s Body Shop’s Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask. I don’t know if anyone does this as well, or if applying a clay mask after using an exfoliator is advisable, but I like doing this because I feel like my skin will absorb more of the nutrients coming from the clay mask after exfoliation. After all, the Black Sugar Mask is meant to remove dead skin cells and other impurities that might cause the clay mask to not fully take effect on the skin. Also, whenever I get my facials, they always end it with a mask. I think this also helps close the pores that were opened by the exfoliation and it tames the skin after all the mild scrubbing.

IMG_5532

So this is how it looks like. It has a honey-like texture packed with tiny grains of sugar, as you can see in the photo. It also has a very sweet sugary scent which reminds me of burnt sugar. IMG_5534

For people with delicate skin, this black sugar mask can be quite rough for you guys so you might want to mix this with a few drops of your toner or melt the sugar a bit before you massage it on your face. What I do is that I don’t wipe my face off after washing it so it’s still wet when I apply the sugar mask.

I don’t really massage the mask on my face because I’m afraid that it might cause friction and skin breakage, so I just gently apply it on and even it out before leaving it on for 15-20 minutes. Unlike other masks, this one doesn’t dry or harden–its texture basically stays the same as when you applied it so you don’t have to worry about waiting for it to dry or whatsoever.

After 20 minutes, I rinse it off using water and look back on a clearer reflection of my face in the mirror. My complexion looks brighter and my skin feels as soft and smooth and supple as a baby’s. I love how this exfoliator seems to give immediate results with no side effects. However, I advice you not to use this when you have an open pimple or a scar as this might worsen your skin problem.

I totally recommend Skinfood’s Black Sugar Mask to people whose skin does not have a strong reaction to physical exfoliants, like people who has normal to dry skin types. I’m not very eager to repurchase this because I might still find other wash off masks that my skin will like, but I definitely love this product and I am glad that this was my first ever sugar mask–I had no regrets. Also, this has been with me for a year already so it’s totally worth it.

Until then ❤

My Skincare Wishlist 2017

Hey guys! So a few weeks ago I posted about my My Christmas Wishlist 2017, which is mainly about everything that I wanted for this Christmas. The list only included two skincare items which are the Tony Moly Ferment Snail Skincare Set and the Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream. Of course, even though I’m all about skincare, a girl has other needs too.

However, that does not mean that they’re the only two products on my skincare wishlist–I’m obsessed with skincare, of course there’ll be more than two items in the list. I only put the two main items in my skincare wishlist because I’m afraid that if I put everything that I want, I won’t be able to get anything except skincare. (yes, I do have a life outside skincare) sooo… uhm, yeah. Here’s the list of Skincare items that I would love to have soon. I might purchase them, or bribe someone to give them to me as a gift–or just like any other millennial, ask(beg) my parents to buy them for me.

  1. Neogen Real Fresh Cleansing Stick (Green Tea)

51ZSQv4IibL._SL1001_

I have seen this cleansing stick a number of times around different skincare articles and videos, and I really need a good cleansing stick since I already ran out of my previous one. This one seems to be a good product so I thought I’d give it a try. If this was easy to find in the Philippines, I would have bought it a long time ago already. But it’s not in my trusted websites and I’m not sure where else to go to soo… I’ll just have this in my wihslist in case someone I know goes out of the country and finds this (but if you guys know a good website, please let me know.)

2. Etude House Honey Cera Emulsion

Etude-House-Honey-Cera-Emulsion-510x550

Have I mentioned how in love I am with this certain line from Etude House? Nope? Please remind me to blog about it. Lol. Anyway, I have tried the toner, lip balm, and eye cream from the Etude House Honey Cera Skincare lineup and I am totally loving every single one of it. Sadly, I don’t know if Etude House has faced out the Honey Cera line or the local flagship stores just don’t want to sell them or whatsoever, but they have been off the shelves for months. However, they’re still available in the Etude House Global website, thus there might still be a hope for me to get my hands on the other Honey Cera products. If you’re asking why I chose the emulsion among all others, it’s because I really don’t know any other emulsion and knowing that the Honey Cera line is good for me, I think I will love this product.

But guys, if you can recommend a good emulsion, please comment down below. It would be a great help, thanks!

3. Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Toner

klairs_supple_preperation_facial_toner_thumbnail_02

I have read that this toner is great on hydration and my skin is always in dire need of good hydration. Also, I have already tried and tested the Dear Klairs brand and it has done wonders to my skin.

4. Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Snail Mucin Essence

ELLE yeah Winter Skin Saviours Skincare Review Dry Sensitive Dehydrated K-Beauty Korean Essence COSRX Snail Mucin Power Essence

The only snail anything that I have in my Skincare routine is the Benton Snail Bee Skin and the occasional snail mask from Etude House. Knowing that Snail Mucin does wonders to my skin, I’d like to incorporate more of it in my routine. Since the Essence is the heart of Korean Skincare, I think having a snail essence will give me positive results. Yknow, I’m really picky when it comes to my serum and essence because I think these two products has the most effect on the skin, and I’m really specific with the ingredients of them… which is why I am extra meticulous when it comes to finding the next essence or serum I’ll be using.

5. Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum

61mhgX-ktmL._SY450_

Just like most of the products in this wishlist, I have watched reviews about this product and from what I have gathered, this is the perfect Vitamin C serum not only because the product is holy grail itself, but the packaging is totally perfect for Vitamin C. I honestly think that getting my hands on this product is literally grace from the heavens because it’s quite expensive–I don’t know if anyone is willing to spend all that money in one product when you can get like, at least 5 products with the money. Also, I don’t know where to get this product locally. But I am hoping that someday, I’ll be able to use this product and experience its wonders first hand.

There you go! I’m cutting this list to five, because if I put everything that I want in this list, this blog post will never see its end.

Honestly, I don’t know how this post can help anyone whatsoever, but I still want to put this here for the sake of sharing. I do hope you find this post entertaining. And if you have a skincare wishlist, please comment down below or send me a link if you blogged about it.

Until then,

PRODUCT REVIEW: Nature Republic Honey Real Nature Essence

Hey guys! I don’t know if I have mentioned this before, but honey is one of my most favorite skincare ingredients. I have been in love with it ever since my very first honey-infused skincare product (I don’t have a review for it, but it’s the Honey Cera Toner from Etude House.) and after that, I have always been in the look for the best honey skincare products around.

It was last September when I thought of doing some skincare shopping at SM MOA when I came along this essence. I have honestly never heard of it before, but the aloe vera gel from the same brand did wonderfully on my skin, so I was confident with Nature Republic. I specifically chose honey to be the main ingredient for my essence, because as they say, essence is the heart of skincare. To put it simply, I want honey to be on the heart of skincare because I don’t think any other product did me good as much as honey did (well, except vitamin C and snail mucin, but let’s talk about that later.)

IMG_5198

This particular essence uses Manuka Honey which is great on moisturization and helps in healing acne. It also repairs scars and fights ageing. To be honest, I didn’t know that this essence from Nature Republic uses Manuka Honey when I bought it, I only found out about it when I researched about this product in the internet–and damn boy, it made me happy. I know for a fact that my skin loves Manuka Honey because it reacts positively to Etude House’s Manuka Honey sheet mask. Anyway, let’s not talk about that here, let’s just focus on this baby:

IMG_5200 (1)

The bottle claims that it will provide rich moisture and nourishment and prevent roughness and dryness of the skin.

In my experience, on my first time using this product, I was not really impressed by the smell–it was too nature-y for me, however, the scent also gave me validation that I’m putting an all-natural organic product on my face. Which, in my case, justifies the not-so-perfumey scent.

I forgot to take a photo of the product itself. But imagine this: it looks and feels like honey, but less shiny and less yellow-ish. The substance was honey-like, too. Except that it isn’t as sticky as honey. At first it may seem thick, but it easily applies evenly on the skin. Also, it absorbs easily. I use this product both morning and evening and there’s no way in hell I’d use something that will make me look like I slathered a pound of oil on my face in the morning–which means this essence is safe for your morning routine.

What I noticed when I first used this product was that my skin felt more moisturized and I actually feel like the product is doing wonders from beneath the skin, because my skin was immediately smoother and softer.

Before using this product, my nose used to flake from time to time. Now, it never happened. I did not feel or notice the need for any moisturizing reinforcement. This essence does its job well.

The only downside of this essence is that it easily runs out. I’ve only had it for like a month, but I don’t think it will last until the second week of November. Thus, if you plan on buying this, this is not for a long-term engagement. Buy two bottles, or start thinking of the next essence that you are going to use the moment you pump this on your palm.

Overall, I think this is a great product for those with sensitive, combination, and dry skin. This will work perfectly during the cold. I would definitely repurchase this in the future.

Hope this review helped you!

XOXO,

PRODUCT EXPERIENCE: Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop

It is about time that I talk about the product that changed my life! I have already mentioned on this blog post about the wonders of Vitamin C, thus I will not dwell on how this serum from Dear Klairs should work, instead I’ll tell you guys how it worked for me.

As you guys know, I got this product last June from an Althea Haul (related: May 2017 Althea Korea Haul (Also, where was I the past few days?) and I immediately started using it the week after I got my box. Mainly because this serum has been on my wishlist for the longest time, but I was only able to purchase it last May because it always goes out of stock in Althea. Also, the amazing effects of my Body Shop Vitamin C SPF got me really stoked to try anything that has Vitamin C on it.

Since I have read that people with sensitive skin should test this first before applying it directly to the face, I first tried using it by mixing two drops of this serum on my Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel. As expected, it didn’t have any result in the first application, but I somehow loved the feel of the mixture on my face. It wasn’t sticky, and it absorbed fast–leaving a really smooth and supple finish. It was a completely different texture from just putting the Aloe Vera Gel alone.

(related:Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Gel Review)

So, for a month I used Dear Klair’s Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop in the same way, every morning and evening. Guys, you know that I started using Korean Skincare since January 2017, and I have noticed positive results on my face, people were saying that I look whiter and my skin looked smoother–but, only after using this product did I really feel like there was something phenomenal going on. While I was still mixing it with my moisturizer, I noticed that my skin cleared up. Small scars slowly disappeared and the hyperpigmentation on my face was gone. There was this area on my left temple that has a bluish shade that has been there since forever–and although no one really notices it because it only looked like small hair, I notice it every time I look in the mirror. But after religiously using this Vitamin C serum, I just can’t find it on my face anymore, and that simple change amazed me to the core.

Thus, after a month of mixing it with my moisturizer. I’ve decided to start applying it directly on my face after my essence. My skin had a positive response to this change, and I’ve noticed that my face actually looked brighter and my skin texture became even. There were less bumps, and I have said this once and I said it again, the skin was smoother, and somehow, it looked very different from my skin before. Also, I started using this in the morning alone because I have a different AHA serum in the evening.

IMG_5082This is how my Dear Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop bottle looks like now. As you can see, the shiny label is almost erased off.

Now, you guys might think that I am overpraising this serum from Dear Klair’s because I also use other products and those other products might have also contributed to the wonders that is happening to my skin right now. But guys, mind you, among all the products that I currently use, this one is the most that I have been religious to. There was not a day I never used this, and I bring this to my travels–and when I’m travelling, my skincare routine changes, but this one remains in the routine. The only difference is that, I use this product twice, both morning and evening when I’m travelling. I only use this in the morning on normal days.

After a month, I changed my essence and I realized that the essence was thicker than this serum. Thus, to follow the light to heavy order, I decided to apply this first before my essence–and that has been going on for almost a month now. And things are still doing good, and doing better.

It started turning yellowish after three months of using it. However, according to my ~*research*~, the slight change of color of this product does not affect its effectivity because of the kind of Vitamin C used here. (check this out for more info)

IMG_5086 This is how yellow the product is now.

It still feels warm on the skin when applied up until this very day. I’m halfway done with the whole bottle and I have been using it for five months now. Therefore I can say that is serum is really worth every single penny I’ve spent on it.

I haven’t decided yet if I should repurchase it later or if I should look for a different Vitamin C serum to try. But guys, this product is so good, I’m not sure if anything else can be better. I recommend this to everyone who wants better skin, and for those who might have sensitive skin, just put two drops of this on your moisturizer so it wouldn’t come too strong.

By the way, for better results, leave it on your face for 10-20 minutes before applying the next product.

I hope this post helped you a lot, and if you have other vitamin C suggestions, please comment down below.

Thank you and I hope we all achieve that smooth glowing skin that we all want! ❤

Skincare Tips to Live By

Hello guys, it’s me again! I started investing in skincare around November last year. I was just looking for a simple solution to a major skin breakout until I got hooked with all the skincare methods and started trying out different products, and eventually creating a blog for it. Through the months of various trials and errors in skincare, I have learned a lot on how to take care of my skin through not-so-extensive research (Google and other blogs) and personal experience.

So in this blog post, I will be sharing the skincare tips that I have learned, and applied on my day-to-day skincare routine. I have proven that these methods are effective for me, and I think that they are effective in general. However, before anything else, I would like to clarify that I am in no way a skincare expert and what I will be writing here is only for the sake of sharing and suggesting for those who would like to start investing in skincare and for those who are new 🙂
So, without further ado, here are my skincare tips to live by:
1. Make time for your routine. I always make sure that I start doing my routine at 9PM. Just like any other activity, your skincare routine needs to have a slot in your evening schedule. In this way you can avoid being too lazy to do it (after a full day of various activities) or forgetting about it. This is to train your mind, and your body to be more religious in doing your skincare by making it a priority at a certain time. After doing your skincare, you can proceed doing whatever it is that you need to do, (study, watch TV, etc.) with a more relaxed state of mind.
2. Never forget to wash your face. There are days when you’re really lazy to do anything and all you want to do when you get home is lie on your bed and doze off immediately. In this case, of course you wouldn’t have enough energy to do a full-on skincare routine. However, you can still be kind to your skin by at least wiping off excess oil and dirt from your face with a cleansing tissue before finally going to sleep. This will help prevent your skin from accumulating dirt that causes pimples.
3. Never forget to wear sunscreen in the morning. At first, I wasn’t really keen on putting anything on my face in the morning because it makes me feel heavy. However, as my skincare obsession progressed, I came to realize that sunscreen is important especially when you slather a lot of products on your face. This will prevent hyperpigmentation and sunburn (which can really happen because there are some skincare products that shouldn’t be exposed to sunlight.)
4. Always start with the lightest product and work your way to the heaviest when doing your routine. Applying a much heavier product before a lighter one might cancel out the effects of the lighter product. You don’t always have to follow the recommended order of products as endorsed by the 10-step Korean Skincare routine. if you’re not comfortable with changing the order of the steps, just make sure that the products you use follow the lightest to heaviest dynamic. After all, it isn’t really hard to find products that follow the 10-step routine because some brands also model their skincare lines from the famous Korean Skincare routine.

5. Do not try on more than one new product at once. If you are introducing something new to your skin, you should observe its effects on you for at least two weeks before applying another new product. In this way, you can easily determine if the new product is good for you, and if it actually makes a difference. Putting too many new products all at once may actually do more damage, trust me, this has happened to me before, and it took me weeks to make my face look presentable again.
6. Know your skin type. This is a no-brainer, you have to know what your skin needs before you start buying products. To be honest, I didn’t know what my skintype was when I was still starting with this whole skincare routine thing (of course I had a routine before, but it wasn’t as extensive as this.) and I bought a few items which weren’t really for me (but they were in the hype), so they ended up in my sister’s vanity. If you do not want to spend money on things that aren’t really for you, do your research first before going to the cashier.

7. Know which ingredients are effective on your skin. Although some products claim that they’re good for a certain skin type, that does not guarantee that you’ll get good results from it. Therefore, you must know which key ingredients gives a positive effect on your skin so that you won’t have a hard time looking for the next skincare product to buy.
8. Do not be afraid to try on different products. The thing about Korean skincare is that it’s very innovative, skincare brands come up with a new line every now and then to keep with with the latest trends and technology, which means they also phase out some old products. It’s pretty hard to stay loyal on something that might be gone someday soon, right? So my advice is that you keep with with the technology, too. Follow the above-mentioned tip when buying new products, and skincare shopping for new products won’t be as risky.

9. Wait for the product to be absorbed by the skin before applying the next layer. If you don’t want your face to be greasy and heave after slathering 10 layers of products, wait until your skin has absorbed whatever gel you applied before putting another layer. This doesn’t take too much time for lighter products, such as the toner. But for heavier products, giving your face that extra massage when applying and waiting for a minute or two will give you better results. Also, there are some products that need more time for it to work its wonders such as the serum, or the essence. Try drinking tea or watching an episode of your favorite TV show first before applying the next product. In the morning, after putting on my moisturizer, I fix my things that I’ll be bringing to work first before I apply my sunscreen so my face won’t look too dewy.
10. Be gentle on the area around your eyes. The skin around our eyes are extra sensitive and is most likely to develop wrinkles faster if it is disturbed by tugging, etc. When applying my eye cream, I use my ring finger because they say that it is the most gentle finger and is less likely to put pressure on the under eyes.
11. Go for facials every now and then. I go to the facial spa at least once a month to have my whiteheads extracted by trained professionals. This isn’t really necessary, but it you want that extra pampering, go ahead and go to your nearest facial spa! It will make you feel better and it will help you in getting rid of your skin problems that you didn’t know you have.
12. Have fun! Doing my skincare routine for me is the most relaxing part of my day, especially when I have a new product to try on. Don’t pressure yourself do commit to doing it if you don’t feel happy or light whenever applying products on your skin, because by the end of the day, it is still your life disposition that will give you that youthful skin 🙂
That’s all! DO you have skincare tips and practices that you’s like to share? Comment down below.
Until next time,
Meesh 🙂

Banila Co., Tony Moly and Nature Republic Skincare Haul 2017

a3AIGdSnHello guys! as you all know, in the first few months of 2017, I’ve been hoarding skincare products from different sellers, may it be online, flagship stores, malls, or wherever I can find anything that promises me better skin. I would get an Althea box once or twice almost every month, and there would be random skincare hauls every now and then. (Check out all my previous hauls here)

To put it shortly: I now have more skincare products than I need. And although it was fun to have all these products readily available for me and experience the wonders of them first hand, I’ve decided to stop impulsively buying them and start being wise and savy with my shopping by only buying a new product when I’m almost out of the current one I’m using.

I was really into the “do-not-buy-unless-you-need-it” state of mind that I actually didn’t notice that I was already starting to run out of products. I keep telling myself, “Oh, I’ll just order from Althea next week,” or “I’ll get myself a new toner from Etude later,” but it never happened. Whenever I see my bottles of skincare with less than an inch of product inside, I always think that it can still last me a week so I always postpone my shopping plans. However, going to Manila always gives me that “I-need-to-waste-my-money-on-something” feeling, which was perfect for my dying skincare routine because I can shop from stores not locally available in my city, and forgive myself from overspending because I’m in a different place. Haha.

The first thing I did prior to going to SM Mall of Asia was list all the products that I need to buy so that I’ll be fully aware of the only products that I should look for. And then I went to MOA with only two thoughts: (1) buy a Banila Co., cleansing balm, and (2) do not buy from stores that can be found in Davao, that’s additional baggage I’ll be wasting!

So, first things first. I went to the department store to get my Banila Co. Clean It Zero cleansing balm, I bought the bigger one because it’s actually cheaper compared to the smaller one considering that this one is almost twice the amount of the regular tub but it’s only 300 PHP more. And I don’t know the next time I will be able to buy this so, it’s a great deal for me.  I also bought the cleansing foam from the same line because I’m already running out of my current morning foam, and I’ve already tried one product from the line, so I guess this isn’t a very risky purchase.

The next store I went to was Tony Moly. I wasn’t exactly sure what products they have there and I didn’t have anything specific in mind, I was just hoping to find something good and inexpensive. Apparently, everything in Tony Moly was expensive and I wasn’t keen into spending a lot of money on a product that I’m not really familiar with, so I just bought sheet masks instead. However, their fermented snail line caught my interest, so I’m gonna write them down on my christmas wishlist. Lol

I went to the next door Nature Republic hoping to buy their famous Aloe Vera gel. Sadly, there was none available, so instead I went around and bought a few products for my skincare. I wasn’t really familiar with the other products from Nature Republic, but since their Aloe Vera gel was wonderful, I trust that their products will be as amazing. I only chose the items with ingredients that I’m familiar with, and has definitely done miracles on my skin. So here’s  the list of items that I got:

  • California Aloe Vera Cleansing Tissue (buy 1 take 1, I figured that I need this for my travels. Because there are days when I get really lazy to even go to the sink to wash my face)
  • Real Squeeze Aloe Vera Toner
  • Honey Real Nature Essence
  • Argan 20 Steam Emulsion

I specifically chose the items for dry and sensitive skin because it’s my skin type. In the past, I would purchase skincare without really knowing if they’re for my skin so I usually end up giving them to my sister instead, and there she is now, out there, with good skin, enjoying my rejects. Anyway, I know better now. Sorry sis, there will be lesser rejects for you in the succeeding months.

I’m not really sure if these products will be embraced by my skin perfectly, so I can’t suggest anything at the moment. However, I might write a product review soon, and I hope you guys are willing to wait for it.

That’s all for now and thank you for reading ❤

NAKEUPFACE Stress Zero Cleansing Stick

Hey guys! I’ve been busy going to the gym lately that I barely had time to post anything here. However, during one of my travels, I was inspired by how gorgeous the hotel bathroom was and thought that it’s a great opportunity for me to take photos for my blog there, and so I did. I just transferred to my sister’s place last month and the lighting was quite bad there, so even though I had time to take photos and write a review, I couldn’t because I don’t want my posts to look like shit. Even though I know that the photos that I upload here are not even of great quality and they’re not even edited… I at least try to give myself some dignity by taking them with good lighting. If I had more time to focus in this blog, I would have had more effort in displaying my creativity here. However, my current schedule and resources make it hard for me to exert my full-on ~*photography*~ skills. Hahaha.

Anyway, enough with that. Let’s just focus on the subject of this post, which is the Nakeupface Stress Zero Cleansing Stick:

I’ve heard about cleansing sticks from some of the youtube skincare channels that I follow. I’ve always thought of buying one but I didn’t think that the products that they showcase in their channels were sold in my favorite online stores, so I didn’t put much thought in buying one at first. But later on I realized that it would be a very great convenience for me, a person who frequently travels, to bring with me a cleansing stick instead of the usual cleansing balm and foam. Thus, I scouted Althea Philippines for some cleansing sticks that looked promising. I had a lot of choices, actually. But this one stood out among all of them. (I actually had quite a hard time choosing because all of them seemed good for my skin.)

So since this is a 3-in-1 product, I first apply it on my bare skin like how I would use my regular cleansing balm. At first I was a bit hesitant to apply it without wetting my face first because it might tug on my skin and result to more wrinkles, but apparently it’s very smooth to apply and the green tea bits weren’t rough enough to cause any irritation. Just be gentle on putting the balm on your whole face.

What I love the most about this cleansing stick is that it smells like the spa! If you have ever gone out for a facial treatment (I get mine at Flawless SM Lanang 1-2 times a month), they will tell you to smell this certain essential oil before starting the whole process–some spas just smell it it once you enter. I don’t really know what the essential oil is exactly, but whatever it is, it has that de-stressing property that it shares with this product, which is probably why this one is called “Stress Zero”

After applying the balm to my whole face, I simply put a small amount of water over it and massage it for a few seconds before I wash it all away. It doesn’t foam that much, which is normal according to it’s Althea page. But nonetheless it does its job well.

What I can say is that this cleansing stick is very handy and easy to use, it isn’t too big, but it’s small enough to fit in your purse if ever you just want to bring your facial necessities with you. It’s perfect for travelling because it’s lightweight and at the same time, since it’s in balm form, it will not spill all over your luggage.

I don’t really use makeup thus I cannot say if this is effective in removing makeup, but s far, as long as cleansing is involved, it really delivers the 3-in-1 package and the stress zero promise that the product name brings.

This one costs around 800-900php (I can’t really do research because we currently don’t have internet and I’m just using mobile data and tethered it to my computer so I can write this post down.) It’s quite pricey, but considering that it’s 3-in-1 and its 45g, it’s worth it. And by the way, it lasts long.

What’s in my Skincare Travel Bag? Also, Travelling Skincare Routine!!

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted anything in this blog. As I have mentioned on my latest post, the month of June had been a very busy month for me. I was out travelling on official business for two weeks. Although my schedule has strained me from blogging, it gave me another topic to talk about, which is my travelling skincare routine.

If you guys have been following me, you’ll know that I travel a lot. And being a skincare enthusiast, bringing my whole skincare routine everywhere with me is quite a struggle. Yknow, all the space that the bottles consume, the possible leakages and breakages, not being able to do a full 10-step routine, and the possibility of forgetting a bottle or two anywhere.

It took my quite some time to finally come up with a travelling skincare routine that isn’t that inconvenient but at the same time, feels enough for my skincare needs.

Introducing, my travelling skincare bag!! I got this toiletry bag from Beauty Bar SM MOA. I can’t remember the exact price, but I’m pretty much sure it’s less than 500PHP. Aside from my skincare, I also put my other hygiene products in it (that I removed for this photo except for my deodorant, which is neatly tucked on one of the corners of the bag… you can see its cover in the photo.)

The usual skincare routine has 10 steps, this one, on the other hand, only has 8 steps (excluding the sheet masks, of course), but I personally think that this is sufficient enough to provide my skin its needs.

  1. Oil cleanser/ foam cleanser

NAKEUP FACE STRESS ZERO CLEANSING STICK – This 3-in-1 cleansing stick is one of the best skincare products I have because it’s very handy and convenient for travelling. It’s small and light, and since it’s in stick form, I don’t have to worry about spilling it all over my bag. Also, it serves as a makeup remover, oil cleanser, and foam cleanser. So, imagine all the storage space that I was able to save because of this product. Plus, this cleansing stick smells so relaxing, it reminds me of the spa.

2. Toner

BENTON SNAIL BEE HIGH CONTENT SKIN – This product is larger than 100mL thus I wouldn’t recommend putting this on your carry-on baggage if you don’t want it to be confiscated by airport security. I sometimes put this in a smaller plastic bottle to save space, since I don’t really need a lot when I’m out travelling. I actually want to use a spray toner for travelling, and I actually own one, but I think this works better for my skin so I bring this one instead of the other spray toner I have.

3. Essence

ETUDE HOUSE MOISTFULL COLLAGEN ESSENCE – I have dry/combination skin, thus it is important to keep my skin moisturized especially during travels. This is also my daily essence and I bring this with me during travels because it’s small and portable, also, it’s in a plastic container so I don’t have to worry breaking it.

4. Eye Cream

ELIZAVECCA GOLD-CF NEST WHITE BOMB EYE CREAM – This is my daily morning eye cream, but I use this both in the morning and at night during travels because between my two eye creams, this one is much easier to bring around and easier to apply because of the tube container. I prefer to bring this alone for my eye cream instead of bringing two different products because my nightly eye cream is much heavier than this one, thus it’s not something that I can use in the morning without allotting a lot of my time in waiting for my skin to absorb the product. Unlike my day eye cream, it can work for both mornings and evenings.

5. Emulsion

MOISTFULL COLLAGEN EMULSION – I actually have this in full size, it just so happened that I also have a small sample bottle that I got months ago. I simply refill my sample bottle with the same product, and bring it everywhere I go, hassle-free.

6. Moisturizer

ONSAEMEEIN PERFECT MOISTURE CREAM – I don’t really recommend bringing this product around unless you have a proper container for it because it has a glass container, and it might break it crushed inside your luggage. However, I brought this moisturizer with me because my usual moisturizer is BIG AF (Nature Republic’s Aloe Vera Cream), and this is the only light moisturizer that I currently have in my stash that works for me both in the night and day. I also add two drops of Dear Klairs’ Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop with this cream before applying it to give my face that extra nourishment that it needs.

7. Lip Cream

LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK – I only use this lip cream for my evening routine because I would much prefer use a lighter lip balm during the day. I don’t really bring this product whenever I travel, except when I’ll be away for more than five days. After all, this lip mask is meant to be travel friendly. Also, this is can be very useful when traveling via plane because that long ride can really dry your lips and nothing else can save those lips except for this heaven-sent lip mask.

Aside from the products stated above, I also bring with me a sheet mask or two, depending on the length of travel. I also bring with me COSRX’s Pimple Clear Pads because they’re very useful, especially when I’m too tired to do my evening routine. I also bring with me pimple patches and other pimple solutions, because I can’t really tell when I’ll have a pimple whatsoever.

Last and most importantly, sunscreen. It isn’t in my skincare travel bag because I put in inside my handbag for easier access. I use Innisfree’s Daily UV Protection Cream No Sebum because it has a mattifying effect, which makes things easier for me in the morning due to the fact that I don’t need to put powder anymore–it saves me so much time.

When choosing your skincare products, or whatever kind of product for that matter, there are a lot of things to consider–packaging, weight, etc. I know the above mentioned products does not fully comply with all the things that should be considered, but so far this set of products works for me. I’m still looking for great products that can be brought for travelling. If you have suggestions, please comment down below!

That’s all for this post, sorry if I took so long to publish a new entry. I hope you liked it though!

Until next time,

Meesh ❤
