NAKEUPFACE Stress Zero Cleansing Stick

Hey guys! I’ve been busy going to the gym lately that I barely had time to post anything here. However, during one of my travels, I was inspired by how gorgeous the hotel bathroom was and thought that it’s a great opportunity for me to take photos for my blog there, and so I did. I just transferred to my sister’s place last month and the lighting was quite bad there, so even though I had time to take photos and write a review, I couldn’t because I don’t want my posts to look like shit. Even though I know that the photos that I upload here are not even of great quality and they’re not even edited… I at least try to give myself some dignity by taking them with good lighting. If I had more time to focus in this blog, I would have had more effort in displaying my creativity here. However, my current schedule and resources make it hard for me to exert my full-on ~*photography*~ skills. Hahaha.

Anyway, enough with that. Let’s just focus on the subject of this post, which is the Nakeupface Stress Zero Cleansing Stick:

I’ve heard about cleansing sticks from some of the youtube skincare channels that I follow. I’ve always thought of buying one but I didn’t think that the products that they showcase in their channels were sold in my favorite online stores, so I didn’t put much thought in buying one at first. But later on I realized that it would be a very great convenience for me, a person who frequently travels, to bring with me a cleansing stick instead of the usual cleansing balm and foam. Thus, I scouted Althea Philippines for some cleansing sticks that looked promising. I had a lot of choices, actually. But this one stood out among all of them. (I actually had quite a hard time choosing because all of them seemed good for my skin.)

So since this is a 3-in-1 product, I first apply it on my bare skin like how I would use my regular cleansing balm. At first I was a bit hesitant to apply it without wetting my face first because it might tug on my skin and result to more wrinkles, but apparently it’s very smooth to apply and the green tea bits weren’t rough enough to cause any irritation. Just be gentle on putting the balm on your whole face.

What I love the most about this cleansing stick is that it smells like the spa! If you have ever gone out for a facial treatment (I get mine at Flawless SM Lanang 1-2 times a month), they will tell you to smell this certain essential oil before starting the whole process–some spas just smell it it once you enter. I don’t really know what the essential oil is exactly, but whatever it is, it has that de-stressing property that it shares with this product, which is probably why this one is called “Stress Zero”

IMG_2742

After applying the balm to my whole face, I simply put a small amount of water over it and massage it for a few seconds before I wash it all away. It doesn’t foam that much, which is normal according to it’s Althea page. But nonetheless it does its job well.

What I can say is that this cleansing stick is very handy and easy to use, it isn’t too big, but it’s small enough to fit in your purse if ever you just want to bring your facial necessities with you. It’s perfect for travelling because it’s lightweight and at the same time, since it’s in balm form, it will not spill all over your luggage.

I don’t really use makeup thus I cannot say if this is effective in removing makeup, but s far, as long as cleansing is involved, it really delivers the 3-in-1 package and the stress zero promise that the product name brings.

This one costs around 800-900php (I can’t really do research because we currently don’t have internet and I’m just using mobile data and tethered it to my computer so I can write this post down.) It’s quite pricey, but considering that it’s 3-in-1 and its 45g, it’s worth it. And by the way, it lasts long.

Second Althea Korea Haul

IMG_8636

Yay! Another box of my beloved skincare products from Korea! I have had a couple of transactions with Althea Korea already, but some of them does not really count as a “haul” because they were Althea Boxes–a pre-selected set of products that follows a certain theme and sold collectively per box. In this haul, I handpicked each and every item in the box. Thus, this by far is just my second Althea Korea haul. It actually feels weird that this is only the second, I feel like I buy something from Althea almost every other week.

(RELATED: Althea Korea Skincare Haul)

As much as possible, I try to avoid buying too many products, especially when I still have something that I can use. However, I don’t want to purchase products individually. A single product always has to go with something when I buy them. The items in this haul had been sitting in my Althea bag for quite some time already, I just don’t have enough reason to checkout. Thus, when I realized that I was already running out of toner, I decided that it’s already time for me to do my second haul.

Also, I had a 10% discount code for reviewing one of my purchases (wait for Althea Korea to email you and offer a discount when you review your latest purchase), I also had 100 referral points from my sister’s successful purchase through my referral code. I actually love and hate this point system that they have because it always makes me come back. Also, the one month expiration of the 10% discount coupons does not really help at all. Not using them and using them will make me regret things either way.

Here’s a list of the products from my haul and why I bought them:

Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin (885php)– As I have mentioned earlier, I was prompted to make this haul because I was running out of toner. This one from Benton wasn’t really my first choice, but just as I have finally decided to order, my toner of choice ran out of stock. Since purchasing a toner was a necessity, I went and looked for another toner to purchase and found this. I have always wanted to try incorporating Snail Mucin in it on my skincare routine, and I have always trusted the bees for skin nourishment. This seemed to be a popular product, so I decided to go with this instead.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask (740php)– I’ve been wanting this for the longest time. Lately, I’ve been looking for lipcare products that will replace the ones in my current routines, especially my evening routine because I’m almost out of my current lip balm. This gave me the opening to finally decide and purchase this lip mask. I have read and watched reviews about this and I have been really curious because it’s a mask. It seemed more appropriate to use before bedtime compared to the regular lip balm.

CP-1 Raspberry Treatment Vinegar (350php)– Raspberry had been my hair’s signature scent for three years until Watsons stopped selling Clairol Long Term Relationship Shampoo and Conditioner. I did not know where to find my beloved hair treatments anymore and I couldn’t find anything that had the raspberry scent with it until I found this product. Also, I’m looking for something that will tame my hair so I can quit going for a hair rebonding treatment every year. Hope this product helps me.

Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder (260php)– My sister purchased this product in her haul and I tried it once. It totally helped reduce the shine/dewy effect of my sun cream in the morning and I love how it’s not as cake-y as my current face powder, so I decided to get one for myself.

Innisfree Daily UV Protection Cream (No Sebum) (494php)– This, I think is the less popular sun protection cream from Innisfree. I can understand because this only has SPF 35 while the other one has SPF 50. However, while I was comparing both products, this one is said to have a matte finish–and you know how much I prefer a matte finish compared to the dewy finish of most skincare products. This is perfect for mornings especially when I’m in a hurry and I have no time to fix my greasy-looking face after a layer of moisturizer and other skincare.

All in all, including the discount, this box costs P2,356.10. Not bad for 5 items.

I’ve made it a rule that whenever I do a haul, the total must be less than 2,500php. Which is why although I still have a few more items in mind, I decided to save them for my next haul and hope that they won’t be out of stock when that day comes. I don’t want to buy a lot of things all at once, especially when they’re not that necessary yet. And I also don’t want to find myself broke after buying a truckload of products that could wait until I use them. I need to budget my expenditures to sustain my skincare obsession and my other needs. I’m not forcing myself to buy products so I’ll have something to talk about–I don’t have that much allowance and space in my pad for that. Also, I still have a few products that I haven’t reviewed yet–I don’t see myself running out of things to post in the near future. I’ll just buy things according to necessity, and of course, curiosity.

Also, I am not a perfect person, and there may be times when temptation is strong. However, I will still try my best and be a good and responsible girl.

P.S. My next Althea Korea haul is an exemption because it’s my birthday gift for myself.

Until my next haul,

Meesh ❤

My First Ever BeautyMNL Purchase + Newly-launched Mobile App

IMG_8644

BeautyMNL is an online store based in the Philippines that sells beauty products such as makeup and skincare from different brands, both local and international.

I’ve been meaning to try out BeautyMNL for a very long time now, but whenever I’m ready to purchase something, it’s either out of stock or totally cheaper in Althea Korea. Thus, my plans on buying something from their website gets postponed every time. There is one particular non-korean skincare product that I really wanted to purchase from BeautyMNL but it only costs 750php, and I can’t find anything non-korean that I like from their website and I wanted to avail of the free shipping. I was actually getting worried because that item was already in my cart, and the other things that I put in it on standby just gets out of stock after a day or two–I was afraid that one day, I may not be able to buy the product that I really wanted to have.

Which is why, the free shipping that came along with the launch of their BeautyMNL app was a savior for me! I didn’t have to worry about paying extra for the shipping fee nor do I need to add things that are mildly interesting in my cart to avail of free shipping. It actually took me a few days before finally deciding to buy something, because I really hate buying one single product for online transactions. I was thinking that I was already a bitch for ordering a free sample kit from Althea Korea without buying anything, but oh well, I think I may need to absorb the fact that it is okay to do single purchases online. I don’t have to feel bad about it.

So there, I went and made my very first purchase at the BeautyMNL app.

IMG_8137

It was indeed a thrill! The transaction was smooth and easy. I immediately got my confirmation email from PayPal regarding the payment, and BeautyMNL also sent me an email about my purchase

I ordered the item on March 17, Friday. The website says that if you live outside Manila, chances are delivery will take 3-5 days. It didn’t say weekends didn’t count, so I was hoping that I will be able to claim my package at least the following Wednesday the most. So while waiting for any update, I keep coming back and forth to my Orders page, hoping that an update would appear:

IMG_8645

I was a bit bothered because the information says that I ordered two items, when in fact I only ordered one. It doesn’t show two items either when I checked. However, since it didn’t affect the amount that I paid and I don’t think it causes my order any trouble, I just shrugged it off. (But I was hoping that there would be a freebie or something…)

On Tuesday, March 21, I got an update from BeautyMNL via email. They informed me that my order has been shipped.

IMG_8646 (1)

They provided me with the tracking number of my order. However, I tried checking its status at the given website and it says that the number provided has no tracking record. I waited two days before tracking it again, but still it says that there are no records found.

I didn’t receive any update from BeautyMNL, the Zoom Courier website, and my trusted LBC branch where I always pick up my online purchases until March 24, Friday. This made me worry because it has already been a full week since I placed my order, and yet I had no idea where it is.

So, while I was travelling to Cagayan de Oro City in the afternoon of March 24th, I decided to send BeautyMNL an email inquiring about the whereabouts of my order. Their customer service representative replied shortly after, and informed me that there was a mistake with the tracking number that they provided, but my order is ready to be picked up at LBC later that day, all I need to do is to wait for LBC to send me a text message about it. Surely, I received the message a few hours after my exchange with BeautyMNL’s representative.

Since I’ll be out of town for the weekend, my order had to stand by in the LBC store until the following Monday when I dropped by to claim my parcel. However, there was another problem because my package was addressed to my nickname. It was still me, but my nickname is completely different from my full name and LBC won’t allow me to get my item until the courier (Zoom) that forwarded it to them sends them an email about it.

Well, I did put my full name as the authorized person to claim my package. However, I think Zoom was not able to forward the information that I provided when they sent my package to LBC. I once again emailed BeautyMNL regarding this, and their customer service representative was very keen in facilitating my emails.

IMG_8647 (1)

I also like how friendly and informative their emails are. They actually give me the answers that I need and they give additional information about my item even though I didn’t ask for it yet. I have had experiences with other customer representatives giving me generic answers to my questions which wasn’t much of a help. I like how BeautyMNL’s people make you feel like you’re important.

The day after, I was finally able to get my product!!!!

IMG_8580IMG_8586

I ordered My Scheming’s Blackhead Removal Activated Carbon Mask Set for two reasons:

  1. I wanted to try a charcoal peel off mask and this one had good reviews.
  2. Ella Chen endorses this product. I am a really huge fan of this Taiwanese actress, I followed her for years and watched every movie and drama that succeeded Hana Kimi Taiwan.

IMG_8584

It had a small dent but I guess these things are simply unavoidable. As long as the products are fine, then dents should not be a problem (although I would really love to receive my products in perfect condition.)

This transaction with BeatyMNL might not be as smooth as I wanted it to be, but it didn’t discourage me from purchasing other products from them in the future. I was taken good care by their customer service and they were really quick to respond to my concerns. Well, as long as I can still get my product in good condition and I don’t have to do extremes such as pay additional fees or go to far places just to fix my problems, then it’s fine. Events like these are likely to happen when online shopping. Although I admit that I am partly at fault for registering with my nickname. I already changed it to avoid the same problem in my next order.

I’m still quite bothered as to why it says that I ordered two items. But I guess the other item is for the free shipping promo whatever to be applied to my order. Aside from that, I think everything’s fine. Their app is neat at it doesn’t lag at all. It’s really convenient and risky because I’m afraid I might just do random purchases while browsing though their products on my phone during my free time! Haha. I still can’t think of any suggestion on how they can improve their app because I think it’s fine the way it is. Kudos to BeautyMNL!

Since I posted this a week later after this whole incident, I’m not sure if their free shipping is still available. But you can try and check it out!

I will be reviewing the Mask Set that I purchased soon. Wait for it!

XOXO,

Meesh 🙂
