Update: All-Korean Evening Skincare Routine

IMG_9391

Hey guys! It’s been quite some time since my last post and I’m really sorry for that. I’ve been traveling here and there, and I didn’t have enough time to write a post. Anyway, here I am right now with my updated Evening Skincare Routine!

Before anything else, I would like to emphasize that all the products in this routine came from Korean brands and this is the very first lineup in my history of skincare where every single product is Korean. I consider this as a big step for me and an achievement. I’m not saying that none-Korean products aren’t good, but my skincare routine is patterned after the Korean routine and it’s not easy to let go of my non-Korean skincare favorites. But I wanted to experience this All-Korean routine at least once in my life so… here we go.

(Related: 2016 Skincare Routine)

(Related: My 11-step Evening Skincare Routine (Part 1)My 11-Step Skincare Routine (Part 2))

  1. Oil Cleanser – Hopegirl Jamong Cleansing Balm
  2. Foam Cleanser – Skinfood Tea Tree Moisture Cleansing Foam
  3. Exfoliator – Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
  4. Toner – Benton Snail Bee High Content Skin
  5. Essence – Etude House Moistfull Collagen Essence
  6. Serum – Innisfree Tangerine Vita C Serum
  7. Sheet Mask – To be honest, I don’t use any particular sheet mask. I just buy what looks interesting and add it to my stash…
  8. Eye Cream – Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream
  9. Moisturizer – Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera
  10. Night Cream – Caolion Pore Tightening Memory Sleeping Mask
  11. Lip Cream – Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask [Berry]

11 products all in all! Lip creams aren’t usually mentioned or included in the famous 10-step Korean Skincare Routine, but I find using a lip product at night a necessity. I do use clay masks and other treatment products whenever needed, but these 11 products are the core of my routine thus these are the only items that I included here.

Unlike my other blog posts about Skincare routines, I didn’t write a short review on any of the products mentioned above because I’m planning on writing individual reviews on each and every one of them in my succeeding posts. So, if you want to know more about any item in this routine, just wait for my post in the coming days or weeks!

That’s all for now and I hope you liked this update.

XOXO,

Meesh ❤

My 11-Step Skincare Routine (Part 2)

img_7205

Hello everyone! Here I am, back with the second part of my Evening Skincare routine. I posted the first one last week, click this link if you want to check that out. The first one covered the first five steps: First cleanser, second cleanser, exfoliator, toner, and essence. I this part, I’ll be showing you guys the other half of my skincare routine: The serum, face mask, eye cream, emulsion, moisturizer, and lipbalm.

Step 6: Serum

img_7214

Etude House Pink Vital Water Serum – This is the very first serum that I have ever purchased, so far I have nothing negative to say about it. It isn’t sticky nor thick, and it doesn’t really cause breakouts. It also absorbs easily, which I like. But aside from that, I have nothing else to say about this. I’m actually not sure what this does although they say that it hydrates the skin. I like the packaging, though. And it’s travel-friendly.

Step 7: Sheet Masks/Treatments

img_7218

I don’t really have a particular sheet mask that I use all the time, I have a stack of like 50 different sheet masks and I choose what I use depending on my skincare needs. Like, if I need moisturizing, I’ll use a honey sheet mask, if I have a breakout, I’ll use Tea Tree. It depends on what I have too. I use at least two sheet masks a week, sometimes I use more whenever I travel because I see to it that I use a sheet mask after a long plane or car ride. I don’t have a lot of favorite sheet masks yet because I’m still in the process of determining which I like, but I’ll make a blog post about it soon!

img_7121

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil – This is the step in which I apply my facial treatments. But so far I only have this oil that I have raved about in this post. But right now, since I don’t get a lot of breakouts anymore, I only apply this when I feel like there’s an acne coming up, or when I feel like my face needs that extra treatment–whenever necessary. Tea Tree Oil was a big help for me in combating acne, and I can never imagine my life without it.

Step 8: Eye Cream

img_7215

Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream – I wasn’t really sure why I bought this particular product, I was simply itching to buy something new and I wanted an eye cream that’s in a jar. I tried the tester first and I was impressed with how easy the product absorbs into my skin, thus I purchased it. After using this, my eyes looked less dull and I actually looked more alive. There’s only one thing that I don’t like with this eye cream, it sometimes gets caught in my under lashes and it’s really difficult to wipe off.

Steps 9 and 10: Emulsion/Moisturizer/Sleeping Pack

img_7216

I have four different products for steps 9 and 10. I don’t use all of them altogether, I only use two a night. My usual combination would be the Etude House Moistfull Collagen Emulsion and The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet. On days when I feel like my skin needs more moisture, I would replace the Aqua Boost Sorbet with the CosRX Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask. There are also days when I feel like my skin needs extra firming so I would use the Aqua Boost Sorbet along with the Etude House Play Therapy Sleeping Pack. The rule here is that I should never use three of any of the above mentioned products at once, and I should never use the overnight mask and the sleeping mask together. Aside from those, I am free to choose any two products a night.

Step 11: Lipbalm

img_7217

L’Occitane Ultra Rich Lipbalm – I have gone through many lipbalms before, but I wasn’t really satisfied with any of them until I had this. I would use this in the morning if it doesn’t leave a really thick shine, but my current morning lipbalm is doing a really good job in keeping my skin moisturized the whole day. And this is really good for overnight moisturizing because as it says, it’s ultra rich. I wake up in the morning with really smooth lips unlike before when it would feel dry and sometimes it would even flake and bleed whenever I stretch it into a smile. The only downside of this lipbalm is that I can’t find it individually in our local L’Occitane stores. It always comes with two other lipbalms and I’m not yet sure if I want to buy the whole set. I got this one at the Manchester Airport in the UK a few months back and it’s the only one left in the shelves. I’m almost out of this one, and it seems like I have no choice but to try and find a different lipbalm that would match this one for replacement.

So that’s it for my 11-Step Skincare Routine. It isn’t the perfect lineup for me yet, but I do have a bunch of favorites from this routine that I sure would keep in my skincare essentials. I’m pretty much sure that there will be a lot of changes in this routine over the months, so if you would like to be updated, check my blog from time to time.

Also, I’m very open to suggestions and recommendations. If you have a holy grail product that you truly love, and would recommend. Please let me know! I have a normal skin type with a few dry patches along the T-zone, which means there’s no problem with me trying different products for different skin types.

I hope you guys liked this post, if you have comments or suggestions, please let me know!

XOXO,

Meesh ❤

My 11-step Evening Skincare Routine (Part 1)

img_7205

That group photo of my babies sure looks overwhelming! Before anything else, I don’t use all of these products above at once, there are some that I alternate in using while there are some that I only use once or twice a week. It depends on my mood and my skincare needs for that day.

This is my second lineup for my evening skincare routine. I did not exactly run out of anything from the first one, I was just in that “exploring” stage for skincare (since I’m still new to this) so tried and purchased a few products that I found interesting. I retained a few items from my first routine because I found them sufficient and effective for me. I replaced a few of them not necessarily because they don’t work for me, but it’s because I just want to explore my options or because the product is too interesting for me to resist.

I’m going to cut this post in two parts because this one will be really long, and I might bore you guys somewhere in the middle of the post if I give it all in one go. For this part I’ll discuss about the products I’m using for the first five steps: First and second cleanser, exfoliator, toner, and essence.

Read: My 2016 Skincare Routine

Step 1: First Cleanser

img_7207

Banila Co.’s Clean It Zero – At first I really wasn’t thinking of doing some double cleansing because I don’t think I need it since I don’t really use makeup. But then lately I became more conscious of my skin and I started using concealer, and thus I found the need to embrace double cleansing in my world.

This was among my top choices for a cleansing balm but it was always unavailable online so I thought of using a cleansing oil instead since I already tried a sampler from one of Etude House’s cleansing oils. However, while I was strolling down the mall, I found this and I purchased it without having any second thoughts. I really enjoyed using this product, it did improve my skincare routine because my skin started absorbing the other products that I apply after I started using this easier –it effectively breaks that barrier that cannot be removed by my regular foaming cleanser but at the same time it keeps my skin healthy by not stripping off all the good oils. I really love this product because it feels very luxurious to apply and it has a scent that I can go on smelling the whole day. I can’t exactly pinpoint if it’s floral or citrus(y), or a mixture of both. All I know is that I love it. I want a perfume that smells like this gem.

Step 2: Second Cleanser

img_7208

Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam – This cleanser is highly recommended for people with oily skin. This isn’t the perfect product for someone like me who has normal skin with dry patches along the nose area, however I didn’t see that as a problem while I was using this. Some say that it might be drying for my skin type, but I think the moisturizers and the other products that I use along with this compensated for it because I don’t feel any dryness at all. However, I am not saving this product from negative criticism. I’d be honest, its not my favorite and I don’t think I will be repurchasing this cleanser once I’m done with it. Simply because it has small beads in it and I don’t really feel comfortable with them especially when I have an ugly acne on my face–I feel restricted from massaging the product on the surface of my skin. It terms of effectiveness, this cleanser does its job well in cleansing, and my face instantly feel refreshed after using this–like all the layers of sunscreen and dust that my skin gathered the whole day were gone.

Step 3: Exfoliator

Exfoliation is something that I have always been mildly obsessed with. I have not tried any clinical procedure that involves exfoliation–like peeling, whatsoever. But I always get hyped about exfoliating products because I’ve always thought that it is the key to smooth and flawless skin–much like how sandpaper is to wood. My primary goal in skincare is to remove the tiny bumps on my nose that totally looks weird whenever I have makeup on (because it becomes obvious), so I was hoping that exfoliation can help me with that problem thus it is one of my main focuses whenever I go skincare shopping. I’m currently using three exfoliators–one daily, and the other two once or twice a week, depends on my skin condition.

img_7209

CosRX One Step Pimple Clear Pad – Both my sister and I use this product. Between the two of us, she’s the one who has oily and more acne-prone skin. After a month of using this daily, her acne lessened and her face started bearing a healthy, dewy shine. In my case, I use this one to three times a day (I’ve Googled it, it’s safe for normal skin.)–depending on my skin condition. I only use it thrice if I have a breakout and my skin needs more care than it should. Otherwise, I use this once or twice during regular days. It is indeed effective in clearing pimples and it prevents breakouts from happening. I went for an Advanced Acne Facial Treatment two weeks after using this and I was actually disappointed because they didn’t do much on my skin. They said that I didn’t have a lot of blackheads and other impurities for them to remove. I feel like I just wasted my money on nothing, but at least I found out that this product really did help clear my skin from the inside!

img_7210

Skinfood Black Sugar Wash Off Mask – I use this mask once or twice a week. Usually after I get back from a travel, because we don’t know what kind of pollutants our skin can gather from different places. I leave this on my face for at least 15 minutes and gently wash it off with water. My skin would instantly look lighter and feel smoother after application. What I love the most about this product is the scent, this smells like roasted sugar with a hint of citrus–or honey with it, I couldn’t tell. But the fragrance is really sweet that sometimes I’d stay in my bathroom longer because I would just sniff on this product.

Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling Mask – This one is a really interesting exfoliator. I use this less often than the Sugar Mask–usually when I have a very alive and angry pimple on my face because this one is less abrasive than the other. This peeling mask does a good job in removing dead skin cells as it shows physical results–by physical, I mean physical peeling. It’s fun because you can see lumps of your dead skin cells form as you gently massage this product on your face. Sometimes I use this product on my underarm for exfoliation.

Step 4: Toner

img_7212

Etude House Honey Cera Toner – I am so in love with the scent of this product, I sometimes dream of it. This toner has a milky consistency and is very easy to apply. After putting this on my face, I feel an instant surge of moisture because it easily absorbs into the skin. I have never felt any stinging sensation whenever I apply this toner. Anyway, I think this product is what a toner should really be. Relaxing, refreshing, and hydrating. I actually didn’t understand how come this was a toner because I always thought that toners are supposed to remove excess dirt and must be used with a cotton ball. However, upon research, I found out that toners are supposed to tone the skin, in preparation for the next skincare steps. I think this baby does a good job in that. I’m almost out and I really want to repurchase it, I just can’t find it anywhere in both local and online stores.

Step 5: Essence

img_7213

The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Translucency Essence Lotion – They say that the Essence is the essence of Korean Skincare. It’s funny how I have a non-Korean product for this step, and I’m not sure if using this would be better or not because I haven’t tried a Korean Essence yet. However, after a few months of using this, I can attest that it does give what it promises, my skin looks brighter and radiant–it gives an instant glow especially when there’s light. This isn’t my favorite product, I don’t hate it either, but after I’m done with my two bottles* of this, I’ll start curating for a Korean essence so I can compare which product is better. My skincare routine isn’t strict to only-Korean products, although I want to try having an all-Korean routine soon because after all, this obsession is inspired by the 10-step Korean Skincare Routine.

*I have two bottles because this was on my Christmas list, and two of my aunts gave me the same thing.

So that’s it for the first 5 steps of my 11-step Evening Skincare Routine. Please stay tuned for the next 6 steps which I will be posting somewhere next week. It’s going to be a long post so I hope you guys will like it.

The next six steps can be read here!

If you guys have some product recommendations, especially for the essence, please let me know.

I’ll talk to you guys soon! XOXO,

Meesh ❤

My 8-Step Morning Skincare Routine

img_7219

This whole thing is the reason why I look forward to waking up in the morning. I may have mentioned before that as much as possible, I want my face to be clear of any products during the daylight, but almost everything that I read regarding skincare heavily emphasizes the importance of using sun cream. I didn’t care much about using SPF before because I’m only exposed to sunlight for a maximum of thirty minutes a day–my office is a good 15-minute walk from my place. But when I received an SPF lotion from my aunt (not the one featured in this post), I took it as a sign that I should start curating for a morning skincare routine. I tried using a few other products in the morning before I came up with this lineup, it wasn’t easy for me because my face would sometimes end up sticky and greasy the whole day, and I just feel totally uncomfortable that sometimes I skip putting products altogether and simply apply SPF instead. But after a few trials and errors, I was finally able to come up with a lineup that was perfect for my morning skincare needs.

img_7220

Calmia Rooibos No Wash Cleansing Water (First cleanser)– First thing that I do in the morning is to apply this on my face with a regular facial tissue. I gently wipe the tissue on my face until I’ve covered everything. I know that double cleansing in the morning may be unnecessary for some people but I just like removing all the excess product that I have applied on my face the night before while I prepare myself  in the morning. And also, there are days when I don’t immediately take a bath in the morning. Sometimes I’ll do it after two hours or five hours–depends on my schedule for the day which may cause last night’s products to stay on my face longer if I don’t use this cleansing water. I don’t want to do all my skincare rituals in the morning without taking a bath first because I know that they’ll be washed away after a few hours and I will have to reapply them. So I just do my first cleansing to keep my face fresh for the meantime.

This cleansing water is indeed effective in removing product residue. Before I had this product, my face would feel slimy whenever I wet it with water every morning. To be honest, sometimes I don’t feel like I’m washing my face enough in because it would still feel loaded with products. But now, not only does my skin feel cleaner and lighter, I would also instantly feel refreshed after using this cleansing water.

img_7221

CosRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (Second cleanser)– I remember the first time I heard of this product, I wasn’t interested with it because it looked like it came from the pharmacy. But while I was doing my research on the best skincare products, this baby kept on appearing and thus I wanted to know what all the hype was about and purchased it from Althea Korea. Goodness gracious this product is heaven sent! It’s really light but not runny, and even though this is supposedly a gel cleanser, it foams up when you massage it on your face. It also has this amazing therapeutic tea tree scent which made me love this product even more.

img_7222

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner (Toner) -This is a mild alcohol-based toner that promises removing impurities and tighten pores. I wanted to stay clear of alcohol-based toners because they might cause dryness to my skin. But so far this product has not done any harm to my skin and it absorbs really well which makes it perfect for the morning routine.

img_7223

CosRX Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol (serum) – I use this right after my toner and then wait a few more minutes before I proceed to my next step. I find this product very effective in helping me deal with my acne scars and prevents incoming breakouts from happening. I know that there may be a risk of using this product along with an alcohol-based cleanser (drying+exfoliation), but so far no harm has been done to my skin. After all, this BHA claims that it’s non-drying. Yes, there was flaking, but the flakes only appeared in the areas of my face that had acne which means this product is doing it’s job well. Also, I never feel any stinging sensation whenever I use this product.

img_7224

Etude House Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum – Etude House’s Honey Cera Range is my favorite range of products from the said brand basically because of its scent. Which is why this product was on top of my wishlist when I was looking for an eye cream. I love how the applicator gives me a cooling effect whenever I glide this product with it beneath my eyes. It is also easily absorbed by my skin and so far I hadn’t had the experience of my eyes stinging because of this product. After using this for weeks, my eyes appeared more brighter.

img_7225

Onsaemeein Perfect Moisture Cream (Moisturizer) – True to its name, this product is indeed the perfect moisturizer especially in the morning time. It has a light creamy consistency that somehow looks like paste diluted with water. Once you start massaging this on your face it turns into watery liquid which makes application even and moisture absorption better. This product also locks in the moisture of the skin to keep it hydrated the whole day.

img_7226

It’s My Sun Cream (SPF)– What I love with this sun cream is that it does not leave a sticky film on the face, making it feel like there was barely any product on it. This product has a faint SPF scent which I don’t really mind although I’m not a huge fan of it–I guess it’s just something that all SPFs have. Anyway, this is not really that easy to apply. It does not leave a white cast, but you have to massage the product on your face for a few minutes before it becomes clear of any visible traces of the cream.

img_7227

Rituals… Lipbalm – I actually don’t know if this lipbalm is available individually. This came with Qatar Airlines’ amenity kit for business class passengers–and I’m not that business class passenger, it’s my aunt and she just gave me one of her kits. Anyway, I don’t know what’s with these airline freebies but I always like their lipbalms because their fragrance-free and they do keep the lips from chapping unlike other lipbalms that I have encountered. I also use this at night when I put on a clay mask or a sheet mask because there are times when I feel my lips dry up whenever I put on masks.

and that’s all for my morning skincare! I don’t usually put on makeup, but there are times when I use concealer on areas where I have pimples and redness. I love this lineup because I don’t look like I just applied a bunch of products on my face when I go out and face the world. It only leaves a dewy finish that I love. I have not spent a long time with this routine yet so I can’t really say if these products has long term effects, but as of now I am totally loving it.

If you have any product recommendations for a morning skin routine, let me know!

XOXO,

Meesh 🙂

2016 Skincare Routine

Processed with VSCO with 4 preset

Before I start introducing all these products one by one, I will be discussing a brief history of my nightly skincare routine.

When I was younger–up until now, actually. I believed in accepting whatever you have, flaws and all, because I thought that these things makes you who you are. Your uniqueness is the beauty that was given to you so instead of hating yourself for it and trying to change who you are, just accept your flaws and find the beauty in them, your life will be so much easier. Therefore, I didn’t really have a skincare routine. I had a facial wash before but I wasn’t really religious in using it, sometimes I’d forget to wash my face before going to sleep or I would completely skip washing my face with soap because I thought it was unnecessary.

I was 19 when I started focusing on skincare. I still had the same thinking as before, I still loved myself the way I am. The only difference is that I learned that to love myself, I also have to take care of myself. And one way of doing that is by taking care of my skin and keeping my face smooth and healthy. Because honestly, imagine being loved but being taken for granted. Is that fair? No. You have to take care of the things that you love so those things will love you in return. Thus, my skincare routine.

I’ve come a long way since then. I had been using the same products on my face for three years when I finally decided to try and change my routine. So I went to the mall, I went through the skincare products that they had and bought some of it, did a little more research about skincare and searched for the products that my face really needs, and that’s when I started obsessing about these things.

This skincare routine that I’m about to introduce is my very first batch of skincare products in trying to pamper myself. This isn’t perfect for me, I still have some products here that I want to replace–and of course there are some that I would love to keep because I can feel them doing something. However, though this isn’t my holy grail set of products, they’re still good and they still work really well as individual products.

So without further ado, I’ll begin with my cleansers:

img_5094

The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Gel Wash – I wasn’t actually planning on buying this but during that time I was looking for a cleanser that I can use in the morning and this product was on sale so I decided to give it a shot. Although my skin isn’t oily AT ALL (like whenever I use those blotting sheets on my face, they would still look good as new.) It doesn’t dry up my face. I rarely apply moisturizer and anything else in the morning which means this product is usually the only thing that I have on my face for the whole day, and so far I have no complaints. It leaves my face smooth and soft–it’s really gentle. The product has a watery consistency that I sometimes fear that it might spill all around my bathroom floor if I don’t shut it tight after using. Also, I have to be careful in squeezing the product out of the tube because I might squeeze more than what I need. What I like the most about this product is that it’s very light on the skin and it doesn’t foam up. It gives my skin a break from all the products that I applied the night before.

Skinfood Tea Tree Moisture Cleansing Foam – I used to use this product in the morning and at night because I really love how it feels against my skin when I’m using it, and it smells really great too. My problem is that, as I have said earlier, I rarely apply anything on my face in the morning and this cleansing foam leaves my face feeling sticky after I’ve washed it with water. In the first few days I thought I wasn’t rinsing my face well which is why I can feel a bit of residue on my face, so I became more conscious on how I rinse my face in the morning and that’s when I realized that I wasn’t the problem, it is the product. Hence, I looked for another cleanser to use in the morning. Aside from that, this product is really good. A pea-sized amount of this product is already good for the whole face. And it doesn’t sting me when I have breakouts which is good.

Toner:img_5095

Etude House Honey Cera Toner – This product is one of my favorites! What I love the most about this toner is the scent. It smells like baby lotion which gives me the feeling that this product is very mild and safe for the skin. It has a milky consistency and it feels very smooth and the skin immediately feels very soft and moisturized once applied. I honestly would love to make this product my toner forever. But sadly, it’s not anymore available in any of the Etude House branches located in my city. I think they eliminated the whole Honey Cera range except for the Eye Serum (which I later bought). I want to consider this product as my holy grail toner and I would definitely recommend this product for all skin types.

Exfoliator:img_5099

Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off – Who does not know this product? When I first started reading online articles regarding skincare, this was one of the few products that was repeatedly mentioned by many different beauty gurus and skincare experts. I usually use this twice a week after the toner because I was afraid that the scrubbing might cause irritation. I have also tried using this before applying toner and it didn’t cause any irritation or redness. The Korean skincare routine suggests that exfoliation should be done after cleansing, but what I do is that I put on toner first, and then this product, let it stay in my face for 15 minutes and I rinse it off. After that, I put a thin layer of toner once more and then proceed with the rest of my routine. It really depends on what works for you. The results after using this product is immediate, my skin feels softer and smoother and it looks lighter. It feels good, in general. This is definitely one of the products that I would love to repurchase.

Clay Mask:img_5098

The Body Shop Skin Clearing Clay Mask – I also got this product on sale (okay, I bought most of my The Body Shop products at around November-December thus sales are EVERYWHERE). I was just really curious and I really wanted to try on clay masks and I’ve read that Tea Tree is good in treating acne and breakouts so I got this product. I usually use this product before and after I travel to somewhere else just so I can get that little bit of protection from breakouts. To be honest, I wasn’t really that impressed with this product although it has this cooling sensation when applied. It was very difficult to wash off and it takes forever to dry. But I would recommend this to people who are acne-prone.

Eye Cream:img_5097

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate – On my first time trying to use this, I was really confused because I didn’t know that you have to pump it first before using! I thought that there was something wrong with the product because when I tried the sample in their shop, it was perfectly fine and I immediately fell in love with it, but when I had the actual product in my bathroom, I didn’t even know how to use it! Good thing I kept the box, so I read the instructions once more and finally knew how to get this thing working. Also, I don’t know if I’m just unlucky or if this applies to everyone who has this product, but the metal ball does not roll at all–well, it does, when I apply pressure, but I wouldn’t put that much pressure around my eye area because it will probably do more harm than good. I don’t think this little glitch has an impact on the effectiveness of this product, but it surely minimized the luxurious feeling that you’re supposed to have when applying it when the metal ball is rolling.

Sheet Mask:img_5096

Etude House Sheet Masks – The one pictured above isn’t particularly my favorite sheet mask but it’s the only one I had when I was taking photos for this post. I wouldn’t elaborate much about sheet masks here because these things are disposable and  can only be used once per pack, thus you can purchase any kind of sheet mask depending on what you like or what your skin needs as of the moment and then use a different one on your next session. I usually add sheet mask on my skincare routine two to three times a week for 15 to 20 minutes and they have immediate results. My face looks supple and brighter and softer the morning after I used a sheet mask.

Moisturizer:

The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Moisture Surge – Now, I don’t know where the individual photo for this product went, but it was on the family picture as posted at the very top (it’s above the tea tree mask.) This moisturizer is also one of my favorites because my skin really feels soft and smooth after using it. Plus, it leaves a matte finish which I really liked and it’s not sticky at all. I’ve read somewhere that this product has comedogenic properties but it seemed like my skin isn’t affected by it, which is really nice for me because I wouldn’t want to give up this product. After applying this, it’s so much easier to put on makeup. I would definitely recommend this especially during the cold months.

Treatment:img_5100

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil – Well I guess by now it’s pretty much obvious that I’m into Tea Tree products. This Tea Tree Oil is very effective in treating acne because it immediately dies the acne once you apply this in the affected area. I apply this in areas with acne until they’re completely gone–or until the acne dries out. I’ve read somewhere that tea tree oil will burn you if you use too much, but it didn’t burn me yet despite the fact that I use it a lot. I guess that really depends on your skin type.

Sleeping Pack:img_5101

Etude House Play Therapy Sleeping Pack (Firming Up!) – Finally, this is the very last product that I use in my skincare routine. Frankly, I don’t really know if this product is necessary or what because I feel like it does not really do anything, or maybe that’s just because I’m using it wrongly. I apply this after the moisture surge from The Body Shop and I think the reason why I can’t feel this product doing anything to my face is because the moisture surge was too thick. However, before I had the moisture surge, I just use this after my toner and it leaves my face feeling moisturized and firmer the morning after. And it isn’t sticky too, which is nice.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Lip Balm – Not a lot of skincare routines that I found in the internet has lip balm on their list, but I really do think that this step is very necessary. Even before I started investing in skincare, I was already religiously applying lipbalm on my lips every night. I have tried a lot of different lip balms before, but this one did the trick. I originally found this one in one of those airplane kits that they give out for free and instantly fell in love with it the moment I started using it. My only problem was that I didn’t know where to find a full size version of it because my city only has one L’Occitane store and they only have the stick version of this product. I didn’t purchase it thinking that the reason why this product was effective for me was because it was in a tube. Luckily, when I went to the UK a few months back, I found this in the Duty Free of the Manchester Airport. This was the only one left in the shelf so I immediately bought it. If there were more of this in that shelf, I could have purchased at least two or three more because I really don’t know when I’ll come across this product ever again. This lip balm really did a great job in moisturizing my lips and the best part here for me was that it doesn’t smell like anything nor does it taste like anything. A few days ago I just found out that this product is now available in our local L’Occitane branch, but it comes in a set along with other lip balms. I might purchase it and give the others a try, but honestly they don’t look as promising as this was to me.

So, that concludes my very first Skincare routine. I repeat, this isn’t perfect, nor the best set of products for my face. I’m just posting about this because I wanted to remember the first set of products that I used on my face when I started focusing on skincare. I still have a long way to go, I’ve been busy reading articles, watching videos on youtube and finding more information about skincare so I can improve my routine and have the best products for my face.

I’m very excited to try out other products on my face and I’m more than willing to learn how to take care of it and make it look younger and healthier. There will be more posts and products to be seen in this blog in the future.

Until then,
